It turns out that Twitter’s April Fools’ Day prank was not a hoax after all.

Twitter tipped to launch edit button soon in next update

A tweet-editing button is in the works, according to the company’s announcement on Twitter. For testing purposes, the capability will be given out to Twitter Blue subscribers “in the coming months,” according to Twitter Communications.

In addition, a mockup of the functionality was released by the firm. For a tweet that’s already been posted and has been edited, the option to do so may be found immediately next to options for deleting or pinning it.

On April 1st, the corporation really announced that they were developing an edit button. Everybody assumed it was an April Fool’s joke, as it has long been joked that the firm would never provide its people this option. They were dead serious this time.

Twitter Blue members will be the first to get the new functionality. Subscribing to Twitter Blue gives you access to a host of additional services on the platform. Editing will be available to all users at some point, although it’s not clear when.
