There have been several models of Samsung smartwatches — Classic, Active, and Frontier – but no Pro model. According to multiple leaks, including new information from Ice Universe, the first one will be released this year.

Titanium and scratch-resistant sapphire glass are rumoured to be the materials of choice for the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro, according to reports. Samsung has used titanium before, as several Watch3 models used the costly metal. However, this is the first time sapphire will be used.

We also learned last month that the Watch5 Pro’s battery will be 572mAh. Large for a watch, to be sure. It’s worth noting, however, that the battery capacity of the 46mm Watch4 Classic and 44mm Watch is only 361mAh. The 44mm Watch5 was certified by Safety Korea, which stated that it would be available in 44mm.

It’s not certain if the 5th generation will have a Classic model. Leaks, on the other hand, say that Samsung is working on three devices, code-named “Heart-S,” “Heart-L,” and “Heart-Pro.”. The Watch5 and the Watch5 Pro, then, come in those two sizes.

As of now, no other Pro enhancements over the vanilla model have been reported, but details are still filtering in. Premium materials and a larger battery aren’t the only factors at play.
