It’s over: The Samsung Galaxy Note is no more! The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is here to stay!

Ladies and gentlemen, raise your glasses in celebration of Samsung’s ultimate blow to the Galaxy Note line.

We had foreseen this moment. However, Samsung did not formally end the Note, simply stating that the Galaxy S22 Ultra was a spiritual successor to the Galaxy Note and that the Note will be discontinued in 2021.

Now there’s some reason to believe the original Note phones may make a return and rejoin Samsung’s exclusive line of smartphones. In an interview with Korean site Dailian at MWC 2022, Samsung’s chief of mobile experience Roh Tae-moon said that we’ve reached the end of the Note as we know it.

Tae-moon remarked, “The Galaxy Note… will come out as ‘Ultra,'” in a translated passage from the interview. As a result, we might conclude that the Galaxy Note has seen its day of reckoning.

If I were a fan of large, rectangular-shaped phones, I would have been disappointed by this. Yes, there are a lot of huge phones, but I’ve never felt that any of them were the productivity engines that Note phones were because of their size or roundness.

Because with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, I was no longer concerned. That’s because, despite its naming convention, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is essentially a new Note phone.

There is a S Pen holder built in and a squared design, along with a robust set of specifications. As a legitimate successor to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the Galaxy S21 Ultra doesn’t seem quite right to me.

Tae-remark moon’s suggests that future Ultra phones from the Galaxy S-series will follow the lead of the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

There’s no guarantee that Samsung will keep the Note DNA intact when it comes to future large flagship phones; Samsung could go off the rails with the designs, or shift to foldables like the rumoured Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. In terms of performance and camera quality, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a Galaxy S-series phone that can also give a full Note experience.

It’s time to raise a glass to the Galaxy Note family. It’s been a lifesaver for me and many others. It’s over, but the Galaxy Note won’t go away completely unmentioned. Source
