The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra seems to be the largest phone of early 2022, if not the whole year, based on leaks and reports thus far. The size of it will be revealed in the next several days.

On February 9, the inaugural Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event will introduce the Galaxy S22 Ultra. A normal S22 and a Plus-sized version of the Galaxy S22 will also be available.

Just a few days after the Feb. 9 Unpacked event, Samsung is likely to unveil its new Galaxy S22 phones, including the S22 Plus and S22 Ultra. Even though the S21 blew us away, we still have high expectations for Samsung’s newest devices. Some reports claim that supply chain issues have delayed the launch of Samsung’s new range of smartphones; as a result, the S22 and S22 Plus won’t be available to purchase until March at the soonest.

However, the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S22 is expected to be later than Feb. 9

S-series phones are normally released in March, but Samsung violated that pattern by unveiling the S21 range in January of 2021. The Galaxy S22 is rumoured to be unveiled during Samsung’s Unpacked presentation on February 9, despite the company’s usual 12-month timetable for upgrading its devices.

Ice Universe had previously said that the Galaxy S22 will be unveiled on the same day, and now the date has been confirmed. Evan Blass, a well-known source, also released promotional material regarding the event ahead of Samsung’s presentation. According to DDaily, a Korean website, the Galaxy S22 will be available for presale on that day and will be available for purchase in shops beginning on February 24.

Dohyun Kim, on the other hand, believes that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be out of stock for some time. For the high-end variant of Samsung’s forthcoming phone series, a January tweet said that delivery might take up to three months. There is also speculation that the phone line has been delayed by Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech. Until February 25, the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus would not be available, according to Prosser, citing supply chain concerns.

The Galaxy S22’s screen and battery may be smaller than those of the Galaxy S21

For the Galaxy S22 range, Samsung may be able to provide somewhat lower screen sizes. It is possible that the Galaxy S22 will have a 6.01-inch display, the S22 Plus will have a 6.55-inch display, and the S22 Ultra will have a 6.81-inch display. In contrast, the Galaxy S21 series has screens of 6.2, 6.7, and 6.8 inches. An early-January leak from WinFuture and leaked pictures from Blass support this rumour, with a 6.1-inch and 6.6-inch display, respectively, for the Galaxy S22 Plus.

Galaxy S22 batteries may also be smaller. According to FrontTron, the S22 and S22 Plus will feature batteries with a capacity of 3,800 mAh and 4,000 mAh, respectively. Meanwhile, WinFuture thinks they’ll be 3,700 and 4,500 mAh. Both sources claim that the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s 5,000-mAh battery will remain in place.

As far as overall performance and value go, Samsung’s Galaxy S21, released last year, was a strong competitor to this year’s top smartphones. In addition to a powerful camera, the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s zooming capabilities were impressive. In light of this, what can we expect from the sequels? What do we expect from the Galaxy S22? This year’s most anticipated smartphone will be Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, since both the S22 and S22e seem to be incremental improvements over their predecessors. Check out our Galaxy S22 vs. Galaxy S22 Plus comparison if you’d want to learn more about those devices! ). According to reports, the Ultra is expected to feature a similar design as the Galaxy Note range, with a S Pen built in. As a result, Samsung seems to have admitted that the Note had a major influence on the design of the Galaxy S4.

Nonetheless, don’t think of the Galaxy S22 Ultra as just another Galaxy Note clone; it might include a number of unique features. If you’re looking for a new smartphone, this is the one to keep an eye on.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra release date rumors

Samsung will conduct a Galaxy Unpacked event on February 9 at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, as expected per the speculations. However, based on the invitation, which depicts a box with a “S” inside, the Galaxy S range seems to be a strong contender for Samsung’s premiere.

Pre-orders may begin on February 9 and the Galaxy S22 is expected to be released on February 25. The phone is expected to arrive on February 24, according to a storey out of South Korea that cites Samsung insiders as its source. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will undoubtedly be in customers’ hands before the end of next month, whomever is correct.

Prices for Samsung’s new Galaxy S22 Ultra

We had hoped that the Galaxy S22 Ultra would be priced similarly to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which retailed for $1,199. However, a new report suggests that all three Galaxy S22 versions might see a $100 price increase.

Also, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to have a beginning price of €1,249 for the 8GB/128GB version, a price of €1,349 for the 12GB/256GB model, and a final price of €1,449 for the 12GB/512GB model.

Even with a flagship phone, that’s a lot. And with the likes of the Google Pixel 6 Pro priced at $899, Samsung would need to show why their flagship is worth so much more. We have a comparison between the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Pixel 6 Pro, but it’s fair to say that the Galaxy S22 Plus is more of a direct challenger to the Pixel 6 Pro.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, might be in for a rough ride if demand exceeds supply, as analysts forecast. A worldwide chip scarcity persists as of right now; Samsung will be impacted, as well, with the iPhone 13 Pro, due to this.

However, pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S22 may come with a free pair of Galaxy Buds Pro, which is a wonderful bonus. The fact that these earphones have earned a place on our list of the finest noise-cancelling earbuds means they aren’t a toy to be taken lightly.

An ultra-slim design for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Speculation suggests the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a blockier and flatter appearance similar to the Note series, making it stand out from the rest of the Galaxy S22 lineup. According to leaked pictures and renderings, it was the initial basis for the speculation. Samsung’s TM Roh has all but confirmed that the Galaxy S22 Ultra would recycle many of the features of the Galaxy Note.

It was the Galaxy Note series’ ability to seamlessly transition from gaming bliss to high-octane work that impressed Roh’s readers, he stated in a blog post. “Many people compare the realistic S Pen to writing with ink on paper, and you were one of them. In addition, we haven’t forgotten about the things you cherish.”

A similar curved display design to the Note’s side edges should make the phone more pleasant to handle but not overly slippery. Additionally, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to come with a S Pen stand, which is an advance above the S21 Ultra’s need for a S Pen cover. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, as well as other hues of the Galaxy S22, have been rendered by leaker Evan Blass. All of them are available in a variety of hues.

Another leak by Blass, this time of what seems to be Samsung Galaxy S22 marketing material for Italy, corroborates these design speculations. There is a lot of emphasis on design revisions and specifications. Do note owing to copyright restrictions, we can’t upload the leaked photographs here so you’ll need to follow Blass on Twitter or subscribe to his email substack to get a glance at them. The 6.81-inch AMOLED screen size of the Galaxy S22 is believed to be the same as that of the Galaxy S21 Ultra. A bigger display might allow for better S Pen input, although this is a minor quibble.

Samsung has yet to finalise the under-display camera for usage in non-folding Galaxy phones, which may explain why renderings and leaked photographs show a punch hole for the front camera.

On top of the S21 Ultra’s 120Hz LTPO display, another is predicted. If you don’t require the high refresh rate, it should be adaptable, scaling to 1Hz when you don’t need it at all. The OnePlus 10 Pro’s LTPO 2.0 display, which provides a more fluid user experience, has not yet been announced.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra’s display is expected to reach a maximum brightness of 1,750 nits, making it one of the most brightly lit smartphones on the market today. If this is accurate, it would be better than any other phone on the market, including the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

When utilising the Canva illustration software on both devices, users may pick the colour they wish to use on their phones, and then use their tablet as a digital canvas to create their designs. This was shown in marketing photos for the rumoured Galaxy S22 Ultra.

A new Exynos CPU with literally game-changing visuals is also mentioned in the reports, which adds even more intrigue to the already outstanding feature list. Here are the top five speculated Samsung S22 and S22 Plus enhancements that we’d want to see for these two lower-tier devices.

Consider, too, that this will very definitely be a reincarnation of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in every way save for its moniker. Despite its recent concentration on foldables, Samsung’s next large flagship phone might be the one to prove that it is still king of the huge flagship phones.
