The S Pen is included into the Galaxy S21 Ultra, superseding the Note.
During Samsung Galaxy Unpacked, the Galaxy S22 Ultra and its S Pen were finally unveiled. The S22 Ultra, on the other hand, is more than simply a Note replacement; it also brings significant improvements to the S Pen. S Pen features alone may make this phone worth upgrading for those who have been hanging onto their Galaxy Note 20s thus far.
The Samsung S Pen offers a 70 percent reduction in latency compared to the previous model. In comparison to the Note 20, the S Pen on the Note 20 has a latency of 9ms, which is a 70% decrease. Samsung claims to have increased the S Pen’s responsiveness to the display by three times.
We’re just testing the S22 Ultra at the moment, but Samsung says that its AI-based point-prediction software, which anticipates where a user will draw next, allows it to achieve such incredibly low latency. Apple Pencil on 2021 iPad Pro can’t compete with this pace. It’s also possible to utilise the new S Pen on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
Microsoft and Samsung have also teamed together to provide greater S Pen functionality to Outlook. According to Samsung’s live demonstration, the S Pen can choose a single response in an email and respond to only that one request.
This S22 Ultra is still under evaluation, and our first hands-on observations show that it has a more accurate handwriting to text translation. However, we’ll need to keep talking on the phone for a little longer before we can draw any firm conclusions.
The S Pen on the S22 Ultra may be inserted in either direction, like it can on the Note series. All S Pens are black, however the button at the top will match the colour of the phone that is being selected. Additionally, there are burgundy, white, and black options to select from, so you’ll never have to settle for just one.
There are three colours that are solely available on Samsung’s website and cannot be purchased elsewhere. Sky blue, graphite, and crimson are among the colours. Only the S22 Ultra comes in red, thus those who select for the Galaxy S22 or Galaxy S22 Plus will miss out on this colour choice.
The S Pen, on the other hand, seems to be exactly what everyone expected: an improved S Pen.
An 8/12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage capacity round out the S22 Ultra’s features. It’s only available on the $1,199 128GB model, which comes with 8GB of RAM. A 45-watt charger is compatible with the device’s 5,000 mAh battery. Of course, the charger isn’t included, as it has been with previous Galaxy phones. However, considering how quickly it charges, we think it’s a worthwhile purchase.
Pre-orders for the S22 Ultra are now open for those who are already lovers of the Note or just intrigued about it. According to a report, Samsung’s website has been unable to handle the volume of orders.
