Monitor your body temperature with Honor’s Earbuds 3 Pro

The Honor Earbuds 3 Pro has just been unveiled at MWC 2022. Active noise suppression and a conventional appearance make these earbuds seem inconspicuous at first glance. However, there is one function on the AirPods Pro 1 that we’d love to see in the AirPods Pro 2 from Apple.

China’s Honor EarBuds 3 Pro claim to be an industry first with built-in temperature monitoring technology. We’ve all gotten more concerned about our health in the aftermath of the epidemic, and this feature has been more sought for in the previous two years.

The Honor EarBuds 3 Pro’s temperature monitoring system is a no-brainer. Monitoring may be activated by tapping the buds three times, and it will continue until it is turned off. If any anomalies are discovered, a “abnormal temperature alarm” will sound. In spite of this, Honor stresses that these readings are “not for any medical purpose” and have not been authorised by any regulatory.

Because AirPods Pros can be easily coupled with an Apple Watch, temperature monitoring would feel like at home. A set of earphones that can measure a user’s body temperature would be a perfect match for the wearable wristwatch, which already has health tracking features like heart rate monitoring.

In fact, there had been rumours that the Apple Watch Series 7 might have temperature tracking prior to its release last September. A wearable and audio device version of the technology was never released, but this is a further sign that Apple is at least exploring it for future products.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple may include temperature sensors in the Apple Watch 8 in the near future. However, it’s not clear whether Apple plans to implement this function.

As if they aren’t enough, reliable sources suggest that Apple wants to expand the functionality of its AirPods beyond only music. According to reports in October, Apple was investigating on methods to enhance the capabilities of its earbuds, including temperature monitoring and improved hearing features as well as posture tracking.

The Honor EarBuds 3 Pro is yet to be released, but it is projected to cost €199. A release in the United States is improbable, but if the Honor Earphones 3 Pro can show that temperature monitoring through earbuds is practical, don’t be shocked if Apple, Samsung and others include the capability into their own audio and wearable goods. They are not alone. Source
