The Nothing phone (1) will be sold via invite only

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei is CEO of Nothing, and there are many parallels between the two companies, particularly in marketing. In a similar manner to OnePlus’ teaser campaign, nothing has released little (or large) nuggets of information about its forthcoming phone on a daily basis, keeping it in the news cycle for weeks at a time. For its debut smartphone, Nothing will follow in the footsteps of OnePlus by using the invite system, which is exactly what OnePlus did in the past.

Whether you love or loathe it, the OnePlus One’s striking design was undeniable, and the Nothing phone would “initially” be available by invitations only. Carl Pei is a controversial figure, but it doesn’t change the fact that he is one of the most effective mobile marketers and hype builders around.

Nothing premiered the above video earlier today and includes information regarding the invitation system near the end of the clip (beginning at 13:20). Details about the phone’s design and production process are shown in this video, which includes the usage of recycled aluminum.

Nothing will be able to sell its products more quickly with the invite system because it won’t have to wait until it has a large number of phones in stock before shipping them out. The “those who deserve it the most” will be among the first to receive a phone as a result of this strategy. The corporation is “more than happy to open wider” once “they’re satisfied.”
