Matthew McConaughy starred in a 2011 film adaptation of Connelly’s popular Mickey Haller crime novel (which arguably kicked off the McConaissance).

Brass Verdict, Connelly’s second novel, served as the basis for the first season of the series developed by David E. Kelley. Garcia-Rulfo takes over as Mickey Haller, the defense attorney who became addicted to painkillers and whose marriage to Maggie McPherson was destroyed by it (Neve Campbell). The murder of Mickey’s former colleague leaves him with an unfinished caseload, which he proceeds to work on from the back of his Lincoln Town Car, now that he’s clean.

The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 release date speculation

Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer hasn’t been officially announced by Netflix yet, so we can’t speculate on when it will premiere.

It’s possible that season 2 will be filmed from March to August 2021 and premiere on May 13, 2022, if it gets the green light. For a legal drama with few special effects, nine months is a lengthy time in post-production.

David E. Kelley and his writing staff may be able to finish the scripts for season 2 within a few months, which would allow filming to begin as early as this autumn and wrap up in early spring. Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer could arrive in the summer of 2023 if post-production can be expedited.

The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 plot and season 1 ending

Season 1 of The Lincoln Lawyer ended on a cliffhanger, so let’s take a look at some of the possible storylines for the upcoming second season. Mickey, Maggie, Lorna, and Cisco were all introduced to new characters as a result of this episode.

It’s Trevor Elliott, a video game mogul accused of killing his wife and her yoga instructor lover Jan, who’s at the center of the biggest case of Season 1. Although Mickey and the jury found him not guilty, he was convicted guilty of committing the crime and deceiving them.

An attack by a Juror No. 7 from the Trevor Elliott case, Glenn McSweeney, is thwarted by Mickey in the last episode. Trevor was confronted, but he maintained he was not responsible for the attack. However, Carol DuBois, a relative of Jan, shoots and kills Trevor.

Other notable victories include the acquittal of Jesus Menendez, a former client who was wrongfully imprisoned for a murder he didn’t commit. He can show that Detective Lankford thwarted a critical witness’s testimony.

On top of that, Mickey discovers who killed Jerry Vincent, the man who had given him the practice of hypnotism. What a shock! It’s actually Judge Holder! Jerry had worked out that she was running a jury-rigging side business. Mickey has her put in jail for trespassing.

During this time, Maggie’s case against human trafficker Angelo Soto is crumbling since it relies on the testimony of crooked cop Lankford, who has now been revealed. Eventually, Cardone has her ejected from the workplace. She, on the other hand, sends the matter to federal authorities without his permission.

Rather to allow Mickey to take care of his financial obligations, Cisco meets Road Saints motorcycle gang leader Teddy and insists on paying his own debts. This may be unlawful but Teddy is willing to make a deal with him.

Netflix said that season 2 will be based on Michael Connelly’s novel, The Fifth Witness. Though her tiny stature does not match the evidence, Mickey defends the woman accused of murdering an extremely tall man. For the sake of destroying the case, he is trying to persuade one of the witnesses to take the Fifth Amendment.

Fans of Connelly wanting to see a familiar face will be let down. Harry Bosch, Mickey’s half-brother, will not be joining the Lincoln Lawyer’s team. Connelly has already stated that Bosch, the detective-turned-PI protagonist of Prime Video’s Bosch and Freevee’s Bosch: Legacy, will not be crossing over to Amazon.com.
