Sunday’s 125-109 win against the New York Knicks was a season-high 29 points, 16 assists and five steals for Houston Rockets point guard James Harden. His 27 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds in Friday’s 133-102 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center earned him the MVP award. This follows his performance in that game.
In his first two games with a new club, he became the only player in NBA history to have at least 25 points and 12 assists. Harden is also dishing out 14 assists per game, demonstrating his ability to motivate his other players.
When Harden scored the opening point for the Sixers, he assisted on three more. In spite of the fact that he was a ball-dominant isolation player in Houston, he is capable of making his teammates better, which goes against what his detractors predicted after the trade. When the Nets signed him in 2021, the Rockets traded him to them. With an all-around game in Brooklyn, the ball hog tag was never far from his thoughts.
