Surprise! There are going to be additional Pokémon games in the near future. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were teased at a livestreamed event on Sunday morning.
They are scheduled for release in late 2022, and a short teaser video looked a lot like Pokémon Sword and Shield, which was released in 2019. A next “evolutionary stride” in the Pokémon main series has been characterised as a “open-world adventure” by developer Game Freak. The photo below shows some of the newest members of the team.

The competitive combat game Pokémon Unite is also receiving some major new features, such as “fury bouts” that begin today.
