Finally, a launch date has been set for the prequel series to Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon! The show’s debut trailer and photographs have been released to the public. “Dark and troubled” and “the angriest of all dragons” are the words Matt Smith has used to describe his character, Targaryen Prince Daemon.

On Game of Thrones, which ended its eight-season run in May 2019, winter has already come and gone. Since Game of Thrones was such a huge success, HBO has been working on five possible spinoffs. Having chosen one, they proceeded with it: “The Dragon’s House.”

When it came to the formation of House of the Dragon, the path was long and arduous. For a spinoff, HBO chose a new story set in the Age of Heroes, rather than the original series. It was ultimately decided to abandon the project after a pilot featuring Naomi Watts had been shot.

A few days later, HBO dropped a bombshell, revealing that it has ordered 10 more episodes of House of the Dragon! It is based on the fantasy book “Fire & Blood” by George R.R. Martin, whose story covers the reign of the House of Targaryen for 300 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones.

Co-showrunners include Colony writer Ryan Condal and Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik. Hardhome, The Long Night, and the Emmy-winning Battle of the Bastards were all directed by Sapochnik.

It’s possible that House of the Dragon can get Game of Thrones writer Rory Mellon to return to the show.

Second teaser video for The House of the Dragon introduced us to a number of house-leaders and dragons, including King Viserys (Paddy Considine) and Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy). We’d want to know how solid those promises are.

We got our first glance at Westeros 200 years before Game of Thrones in HBO Max’s first teaser trailer for House of the Dragon.

Even though it’s dark and full of golden hair, this Westeros looks very much like the one we know, thanks to the Targaryens and other aristocratic Valyrian dynasties.

Game of Thrones’s Iron Throne has also undergone a dramatic transformation, appearing more like what George RR Martin had in mind when he wrote the novels.

While the Targaryen dragons may turn up and cause havoc in this next season, the teaser doesn’t offer much more about what we may anticipate from the last season of Game of Thrones.

Release date of House of the Dragon

HBO (through WarnerMedia) published a press statement on August 21, 2022, along with a poster depicting a large luminous dragon egg, ready to break, to announce House of the Dragon. In addition to HBO and HBO Max, the 10-episode series is scheduled to broadcast weekly on HBO.

The series will launch on Sky Atlantic and NOW on August 22 in the United Kingdom.

In October 2019, HBO announced the series order. The first round of casting will begin in late July 2020. Filming, editing, and visual effects are still a lot of work. The latter may take a long time, since a Targaryen-focused series would need dragons.

around the year 2022,” HBO President of Programming Casey Bloys told Deadline in January of 2020. That it is a large, sophisticated spectacle is obvious.

According to HBO’s chief programming officer, Casey Bloys, production will begin in April.

Consider this: if it’s as difficult as Game of Thrones, you may want to think about it. It took nine months to shoot Season 8, and another nine months to release it. According to this chronology, we may expect House of the Dragon’s publication in March or April of 2022. Actually, this would make sense, given that almost every season of Game of Thrones has debuted within this time period.

All the images from the House of the Dragon set

House of the Dragon has officially begun filming, as HBO has published the first set photographs. In a photo that was released on Twitter, the cast members can be seen participating in a table read from a distance.

HBO also posted photos of the House of Dragon actors from the table read on Twitter, which an Instagram user compiled into a collage. Considine, Smith, Cooke, Toussaint, D’Arcy, and Ifans are all part of the ensemble.

Set images of the actors in action have been released. On a beach in Cornwall, England, Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy were seen shooting a scene. In order to seem like Targaryens, they’re both wearing wigs. Smith is Daemon, and D’Arcy is Rhaenyra, the princess. In the next paragraphs, you will learn more about the characters.

Several cast members posed for pictures while dressed as their respective roles, which were distributed by HBO. Pictured here are Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen and Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra, as well as Lord Corlys Velaryon (better known as the Sea Snake) and Alicent Hightower and Otto Hightower (both played by Rhys Ifans).

a list of everyone who appears in the film House of the Dragon

Paddy Considine, who will portray King Viserys in House of Dragons, has been cast in the role, according to Entertainment Weekly. It’s said that he’s “At the Great Council of Harrenhal, the lords of Westeros picked Tyrion to replace the Old King Jaehaerys Targaryen. Only his grandfather’s heritage can inspire Viserys, a guy who is kind, compassionate, and decent. But great rulers aren’t often made of noble guys.”

Others in House of the Dragon’s star-studded lineup include

Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) is a character in the film “the Hand of the King’s daughter and the Seven Kingdoms’ most beautiful lady. With her courtly demeanour and sharp political sense, she’s an ideal candidate for the position of queen.”

“Really devious and deceitful and selfish,” Cooke told Metro.UK about Alicent in contrast to her portrayal in the recent film Pixie. Alicent could be a decent egg after all.

as noted by the critics, Matt Smith is excellent as Prince Daemon Targaryen “heir to the throne and younger brother of King Viserys. When it comes to fighting and riding, no one compares to Daemon’s skills. When a Targaryen is born, though, it’s rumoured that the gods throw a coin in the air…”

Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, played by Emma D’Arcy “King Joffrey’s first-born daughter, she is of pure Valyrian blood, and she rides a dragon. As far as many people are concerned, Rhaenyra was born with it all. However, she was not born a male.”

Another four more cast members were unveiled in February:

House Velaryon’s ruler, Lord Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint), will be known as “The Sea Snake.” Velaryon, the most famed “nautical adventurer in the history of Westeros,” is the ancestor of House Targaryen.

Lord Corlys Velaryon’s wife, Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, is played by Eve Best. In the Great Council, “the kingdom supported her cousin, Viserys, merely because he was a man,” she was denied the throne.

The character of Mysaria is played by Sonoya Mizuno. When Mysaria landed in Westeros, she had nothing. Daemon, the heir to the throne, has now given her his full support after she’s “sold more times than she can remember.”

As Ser Criston Cole, Fabien Frankel portrays a member of King Viserys I Targaryen’s Kingsguard. George R.R. Martin said on his blog that Ser Criston is “Son of the steward to the Lord of Blackhaven, the commoner. The only thing that matters to him is honour and his ability to wield a sword and lance. He’s a contender, a champion, and he’s liked by the women and the regular people alike. What do we know about him? He’s the lover, the betrayer, the seducer, the heartbreaker, and the king-maker? Fabien, a warm welcome to the Seven Kingdoms. Maintaining a sharp edge is essential.”

House of the Dragon actor Graham McTavish has confirmed his involvement after being discovered in leaked production images.

I’m having a great time “he said in an interview with Stylist, a British fashion magazine. “We’ve just just begun. We’re getting to know each other since it’s a huge project. They’re a great bunch of folks. Great, but I can’t say too much about it now. I’m afraid I can’t provide you any details regarding the plot! But there are a lot of dragons involved in it.”

Sadly, it does not seem to feature Sam Heughan, McTavish’s Outlander co-star. Heughan joked, “Am I in [House of the Dragon]?” in the same interview. Renly Baratheon and Ser Loras Tyrell were two of the seven parts he tried out for on Game of Thrones.

The Dragon’s House storyline

The events of House of the Dragon take place a long time before those of Game of Thrones (about a thousand years). According to Martin’s “Fire & Blood” book, which begins with the founding of House Targaryen, the show is based on this. Aegon I Targaryen’s conquest of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros marks the beginning of the saga.

The Dance of Dragons is a significant period in Targaryen history, which will be explored in depth in House of the Dragon. Two hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones, the Targaryens engaged in a deadly civil war. (A little more than a century after Aegon I’s victory, to be precise).)

According to star Olivia Cooke, there will be no gratuitous graphic violence against women in House of the Dragon. ‘I wouldn’t feel comfortable with something that had just terrible graphic brutality against women for no reason whatsoever, just because they want it to be tantalising in a manner that draws views,’ she said in an interview with The Telegraph.

The Best and Worst Episodes of “Game of Thrones,”

Death of Viserys I causes a power struggle between his daughter, Princess Rhaenyra (from his first marriage), and his son, Aegon II (from his second marriage). This tale was told by Princess Shireen Baratheon in a Game of Thrones episode from season five.

she said, “Brothers fought brothers, dragons battled each other,” and she recalled her father Stannis. “Thousands of people were killed by the time the conflict was done.”

Since Shireen pointed out, the Targaryens’ dragons were decimated during the fighting, as virtually all of them perished. Until Daenerys Targaryen birthed her three dragons in Game of Thrones, the monsters were extinct.

Episodes of Dragon’s House

Each season of The Dragon’s House will include ten episodes. While we don’t yet know the episode names, HBO has identified the show’s executive producers.

Clare Kilner (EastEnders), Geeta Patel (The Witcher) and Greg Yaitanes (The Witcher) are the show’s season 1 directors (House). They join Miguel Sapochnik, the director of the pilot, who was previously revealed.

Two teaser photos with the text “Dragons are coming” were posted by HBO in early December as part of an announcement that production will begin in 2021. That’s very much in line with the period we’ve anticipated above.
