When can I upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PS5?
On forums and message boards all over the internet, gamers are wondering when they will be able to upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PS5. Gamers will be able to upgrade on Friday, January 28, 2022.
However, the $10 Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection update for the PS5 is not currently available. If you go to the PlayStation Store, you’ll only find the current $50 PS5 pre-order.
How can I upgrade Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection?
On Friday, January 28, slot your copy of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End into your PlayStation 4 and head over to the PlayStation Store. You should be able to find or search for The Legacy of Thieves Collection there. Once there, you should be able to purchase the upgrade for $10 (or £10 if you live in the United Kingdom). If the $10 choice does not appear, click the ellipsis (…) to pick the proper edition.
It’s also worth noting that you don’t have to possess both Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy on PS4 in order to obtain Legacy of Thieves Collection on PS5. You’ll be eligible for the $10 upgrade as long as you have one of the games installed.
According to the PlayStation Blog, physical owners must take additional measures to verify that their updated edition of Legacy of Thieves Collection works properly.

If you don’t already own Uncharted 4, you can get it for $20 at Best Buy as of this writing. The Legacy of Thieves Collection will cost you an additional $10. This is a $20 save over purchasing the Legacy of Thieves Collection individually on PS5.
Unfortunately, if you own the PS5 Digital Edition Console, the $400 machine without a disc drive, you will have to purchase Uncharted 4 digitally. The Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End & Uncharted: The Lost Legacy package is now available for $40 on the PlayStation Store. Simply purchase the Legacy Collection for $50 on January 28th.
Can I upgrade Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection if I only own Uncharted 4 through PS+?
Here’s the quick answer: no.
If you don’t want to buy fresh, secondhand copies of Uncharted 4 are selling on eBay for between $8 and $10.
Sony was kind enough to provide PlayStation Plus members with a complimentary copy of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in April of 2020. Current PS5 owners who have a PS+ membership also get access to the PS Plus Collection, which includes a pair of free titles. A Thief’s End is one of these titles, along with inFAMOUS Second Son, God of War, and other fantastic games. The whole list is available here.
Unfortunately, having Uncharted 4 through PS Plus does not entitle you to a $10 upgrade to the PS5 version. You must purchase either a hard or digital copy.
Will Uncharted 4 multiplayer work on Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
As enjoyable as Uncharted 4’s multiplayer was on the PS4, Sony has opted not to include it in Legacy of Thieves Collection. Uncharted 4’s multiplayer servers were still operating at the time of publication. LoneWolfXP, a streamer, posted a video showing himself playing online games in 2022.
So, if you want to keep playing Uncharted 4 multiplayer on your PS5, you’ll have to use the PS4 version of the game. It is not compatible with the Legacy of Thieves Collection. This also means that PC players who buy the collection through the Epic Games Store or Steam will not be able to enjoy multiplayer fun. To do so, they’ll need a PS4 and a copy of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
