Homemade Buttermilk French Toast recipe

Hey, Friends Welcome back learn How To Make Buttermilk French Toast At Home. We must admit that before Gourmet’s Paul Grimes developed this buttermilk French toast recipe, we had never considered cooking French toast with anything other than milk.

However, when Grimes made a batch using the remaining buttermilk from this Skillet Corn Bread, we were blown away by how good it tasted. A buttermilk-based custard permeates the bread with a subtle tang that pairs beautifully with a drizzle of maple syrup, as opposed to a simple custard made with milk and eggs, as used in this diner-style challah French toast recipe. It’s a brunch staple, and it’s one of our favourite ways to use up a carton of buttermilk.

Buttermilk French toast is also known as “eggy toast,” “gypsy toast,” and “poor knights,” among other things. The maple syrup complements the handmade buttermilk French toast excellently. Whipped cream and berries can also be used as garnishes.

In a large mixing basin, combine the buttermilk, eggs, sugar, and salt to create buttermilk French toast. In a four-sided sheet pan, arrange the bread in a single layer and pour over the buttermilk mixture. Allow it to soak for 20 minutes. In a nonstick pan, melt butter and lay 4 bread pieces. Cook until golden brown and puffed on both sides. Then bake for about 20 minutes before serving.

This is only a synopsis of the recipe. The whole recipe may be seen here. There are also a range of breakfast dishes that you may attempt. Check them out as well.
