WhatsApp Launches New Voice Message Features and Interface

WhatsApp has introduced a slew of new features to enhance the experience of using audio messages or “voice notes,” which are the most popular method of communication on the network.

Out-of-chat playback, which enables you listen to a voice message outside of the conversation so that you may multitask or read and reply to other messages, is the most noticeable update that just emerged out of beta testing.

A new audio message playback interface emerges on top of WhatsApp if you play a voice note and then go to the app’s home page or another chat thread. This interface includes stop, resume, and dismiss buttons as well as a waveform visualisation and progress metre.

Paused voice messages may now be resumed when you return to the conversation and voice messages can be played at 1.5 or 2x speed to hear them more quickly, on both normal and forwarded chats.

Last but not least, you may now stop and continue recording of voice messages, while draught previews allow you to listen to your voice messages before sending them.

All WhatsApp users will be able to utilise the new voice messaging capabilities in the coming weeks, according to the company.
