The iPhone 14 Pro might be very different from the iPhone 14 in many ways.
They may be surprised when they go to buy the new iPhone 14 this year. This has nothing to do with the cost.
To begin with, there are rumours that Apple may discontinue the tiny model entirely with the iPhone 14 series. The 5.4-inch iPhone Mini is expected to be replaced with a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, according to reports. This means that there will be two iPhone 14s with 6.1-inch screens and two with 6.7-inch displays.
The iPhone 14 rumours and leaks I’ve seen so far indicate that this isn’t the most important development. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are expected to return with 120Hz ProMotion screens, a technology that may only be available on the Pro models going forward. The telephoto lens for a genuine optical zoom will likely be no different.
Between the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, there are, however, many more changes that have been reported. For better or worse, they might place the Pro in a league of its own.
For the iPhone 14 Pro, there is no notch?
While the iPhone 14 Pro is expected to eliminate the notch, don’t expect it to look like the greatest Android phones. A pill-shaped cutout for Face ID and a smaller punch hole for the front camera are said to replace the notch on Apple’s next iPhones.
According to a handful of images that indicate what the iPhone 14 Pro may look like, some people are unhappy with the dual-punchole design. In contrast, the notch on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max is likely to remain unchanged.
Is the USB-C port exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro?
Here’s one iPhone rumour we’d want to see disproven at any costs. As far as we know, the iPhone 14 Pro may include a USB-C port. For creative professionals, this would allow the iPhone 14 Pro to transport data at a quicker rate while working with external peripherals and presumably enable faster charging.
Apple is said to be working on a speedier 30W Gallium Nitride charger for the iPhone 13, which currently allows 20W charging. The iPhone 14 Pro may or may not include this feature if it is released this year.
To avoid further entanglement with the European Union, Apple might maintain Lightning in the standard iPhone 14 and make USB-C an exclusive feature of the Pro model.
The A16 Bionic goes pro in the new iPhones
We first doubted this report, but it’s possible. According to Ming Chi Kuo, Apple’s new A16 Bionic processor, which is said to employ a new 4nm technology, might only be found in the iPhone 14 Pro series.
There is speculation that the A15 Bionic processor will remain in both the normal iPhone 14 and the larger iPhone 14 Max, but that the RAM may be increased from 4GB to 6GB in the new models. The LPDDR 5 memory in the iPhone 14 Pro is “up to one and a half times quicker and up to 30% more power efficient” than the current LPDDR 4 memory.
However, the results of the iPhone 13’s benchmarks demonstrate that Apple already had the quickest processor in a smartphone and presumably will for some time to come. In contrast, a significant performance gain for the iPhone 14 Pro series is possible.
iPhone 14 vs iPhone 14 Pro: 48MP camera?
In the past, we’ve read claims that Apple might replace the iPhone 14 Pro’s 12MP primary camera with a 48MP sensor. The picture quality of the iPhone 13 Pro is already excellent, but adding additional megapixels would provide customers greater freedom in editing their photographs.
A Weibo leaker has dispelled the 48MP iPhone 14 Pro camera rumour, noting that it would employ the same IMX703 sensors as in the iPhone 13 Pro versions. As a result, we have a 12MP camera with 1.9 m pixels and a 1/1.67-inch sensor size. For now, I’d think a crisper Pro camera is only a rumour, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Periscope zoom for the iPhone is reported to be in the works at Apple, but it’s not expected until 2023.
All the additional changes between the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro
Because of the 120Hz ProMotion display, which allows for more fluid scrolling and animations, the iPhone 14 Pro series is expected to maintain the current normal vs. pro distinctions. For the iPhone 14 Pro and Max, we expect a 3x optical zoom, while the ordinary iPhone 14 series will only have a digital one.
Finally, the iPhone 14 Pro series may have up to 2TB of storage, even if this might seem like overkill for a smartphone.
The gist of it
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro, particularly if there’s going to be a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, need to persuade consumers that the premium is worth it. A lot of people may wonder, “Why do I need a Pro if the iPhone 14 Max is fine?”
Only the iPhone 14 Pros from Apple are capable of answering this question, with a more strong CPU, a full-screen design with no notch, USB-C charging, and (maybe) a better camera and more storage space. ProMotion display and telephoto zoom are also included. iPhone 14 Pros may really feel like a high-end smartphone.
