Heardle is like Wordle except for music, and it’s fantastic

I’ve been waiting a long time for a Wordle clone like Heardle.

There are many Wordle clones out there today, but some of them, like Heardle, are still worth checking out for their unique twists on the idea.

“Wordle but for music” may seem like a great pitch, but it’s just half the storey since you listen to brief intro bits and then identify the artist or song’s name.

Attempts are limited to six, with each one expanding the length of the audio sample you can hear. The first two just last a second apiece, but they go longer and longer until you can hear roughly 15 seconds of audio in total on the last try.

Listen to more of the music before guessing, if necessary, rather than typing in a guess every time. For added convenience, the response bar autocompletes, so you may view a list of songs and musicians.

Fortunately, you’re not completely left in the dark, but it’s still a difficult situation: It took me till the sixth guess, despite the fact that I was a music writer for six years and probably spent more time on Spotify than the typical person does. (Admittedly, I would have gotten it sooner if I had known about the autocomplete feature.) (At least, that’s how I remember it.)

You can’t access the code for Wordle’s responses as you can on Soundcloud since the music is played from Soundcloud and “randomly picked from a list of the most streamed songs in the previous decade.”

As a result, you won’t be able to discover The Beatles in the list of answers, for example. In addition to the fact that it’s based on famous songs from recent years, the inclusion of some older artists should help it appeal to a broader audience.

In a format that is beginning to get boring, this is a brilliant way to inject new life into it. We’re on the verge of Wordle Saturation Overload, a moment at which all of the internet will be overrun by small yellow and green squares and it will be impossible to talk other than in five-letter words, even after the New York Times purchased the original game.

Wordle clones now include the Dordle, which does two problems at once, the Quordle, which does four puzzles at once, the Octordle, which does eight riddles at once, and the Sedordle, which does 16 puzzles at once. The SWordle, the Worldle, and the Mathler are all variations on the subject of the original SWordle. In addition to WWE, LOTR, and Taylordle, there are a variety of other themed games available.

In a nutshell, Wordle is everywhere. Heardle, on the other hand, is the finest I’ve played in a long time since it’s so different. We’re adding it to our list of the greatest Wordle alternatives, and you should, too. Source
