Head of Instagram says iPad App Is Low Priority Because Not Enough People Want It

Anyone who had hoped for an iPad version of Instagram has been dealt a devastating blow.

“The year is 2022 and there’s still no real Instagram app for iPad,” Marques Brownlee tweeted today. When Adam Mosseri, the CEO of Instagram, reacted to a tweet about a group of individuals he said were “not a priority,” many were surprised.

It’s a common one, isn’t it? There are just not enough individuals involved to make it a priority at this time. We’d want to get to it eventually, but we’re focused on other things right now.

Mosseri responded to Brownlee’s claim that they may have a large enough audience for an iPad app if it did exist, adding that a variety of difficulties stood in the way.

It’s a lot of work to maintain a presence on all of these platforms; Android is by far the most popular.

People post more messages on TikTok and YouTube than they do on Facebook or Instagram, so we need to adapt.

Our bodies are more muscular than you believe.

No iPad version for Instagram is less and less acceptable, even if Mosseri has perfectly reasonable reasons for her stance. After all, practically every other major social media service has an iPad app.

Of course, Instagram already has a large enough market share and impact to get by without one. Source
