Teaser for the DeLorean EV claims that the vehicle will be unveiled on May 31 – two months sooner than previously expected.
If you haven’t heard, the DeLorean Motor Company is working on an electric vehicle. Automaker DeLorean has teased us with glimpses of their new all-electric take on a classic 1980s sports vehicle since they revealed their plans to bring it back earlier this year.
Our finest glimpse yet at the back of the DeLorean EVolved, as it is now named, was provided in the most recent teaser. The full-length light bar is clearly visible, despite the car’s silhouette against a bright red backdrop. The Polestar 2 is one example of a sporty EV with this functionality, which is more widespread.
Furthermore, the form reveals that the electric DeLorean will not be an updated version of the original DMC-1. Instead, it seems that the vehicle will have an original design, which is a good thing given that many ’80s automobile designs haven’t stood the test of time well. A classic example is the DeLorean DMC-1.
DeLorean EVolved will, nonetheless, be influenced by the original. The gull-wing doors and what seems to be a rear window with louvres are all part of the now famous design.
According to DeLorean, there will be an announcement on May 31st. This year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Awards Ramp premiere was previously announced to be August 18.
That timetable seems to have been accelerated by a few months as of late. At the end of this month, I’d imagine that we’ll get a complete look at the vehicle, while an actual, operational vehicle will be on display in August.
For those who can’t wait until May 31, DeLorean’s early access email list might be a good option. Seeing the DeLorean EVolved 24 hours before everyone else is possible with this method. When it comes to social media, everyone can join up and it’s unlikely that the discovery will be kept hidden for more than a few minutes.
