For 2022, we don’t expect to get any new details on The Elder Scrolls 6 in the near future. As a result, the game is probably still in the early stages of development.

In the meantime, we’d want to see the next generation of Elder scrolls games arrive before too many years have passed.

For the moment, Bethesda plans to release Starfield first in November 2022, meaning we won’t see The Elder Scrolls 6 until late 2023.

As a result, we don’t have a lot of information about what to expect from the game, but we can speculate. We now have the following information on The Elder Scrolls 6:

The Elder Scrolls 6 release date speculation

The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 came and went without any mention of The Elder Scrolls 6, with Starfield being the large open-world game that received the most attention..

Nothing has been revealed about The Elder Scrolls 6, so we can only assume that it will be years before it sees the light of day in the form of a major trailer or gameplay footage. We’d estimate that the game will be out in 2024 at the earliest.

The Elder Scrolls 6 trailer

The Elder Scrolls 6 has only one trailer, and it doesn’t reveal anything about the game. Nothing more than the game’s title and a wide-angle image of some mountains was revealed in terms of gameplay or story details. The music was a riff on the familiar Elder Scrolls theme that has been used in the past several games.

For some reason, despite the trailer’s lack of detail, Elder Scrolls fans seem to be enthused by it all the same. Fans of open-world role-playing games will never forget the initial excitement sparked by the Skyrim teasers.

The Elder Scrolls 6 location

All of the Elder Scrolls games take place on Tamriel, a legendary continent. The most recent games, Morrowind, Cyrodill, and Skyrim, all take place in individual nations on Tamriel. The Wood Elves’ and Argonians’ homelands of Valenwood and Black Marsh have yet to be visited in an Elder Scrolls single-player game.

The mountains in the trailer, on the other hand, have sparked conjecture that the game may take place in either Black Rock, home to the mage-centric Bretons, or Hammerfell, home to the warrior-like Redguard. When it comes to naming the game, it might be dubbed The Elder Scrolls 6 because it could span a number of the Tamriel provinces.

The Elder Scrolls 6 gameplay

We can only speculate that The Elder Scrolls 6 will have some of Skyrim’s basic gameplay mechanics, given there has been no gameplay footage available for the game. Open-world gameplay means you can go off the beaten path and explore destroyed strongholds and towers without having to worry about getting lost in the game’s enormous world map.

We’re hoping Bethesda improves on Skyrim’s story, which was good but could have used more of the game’s side quests. Take a page out of the books of Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Witcher 3, both of which include a number of side tasks that connect to the main storylines.

It would be nice to see more dynamic combat and spell-casting. Furthermore, it would be impossible to accomplish more in the open world, such as building a stronghold or making a lasting impression on the globe. For example, if you planted a tree, it might ultimately grow. We also expect Bethesda to find a solution to avoid NPCs speaking the same thing over and over again. Our ears are irritated by guards boasting about how they used to be explorers until they were injured by arrows.

The Dishonored games were published by Bethesda, so the studio could take certain cues from that series when developing The Elder Scrolls 6. Aside from hacking away at our adversaries with swords and hurling fireballs at them, we’d like to be able to better travel the open area.

Overall, we expect The Elder Scrolls 6 to be an improvement over Skyrim while still remaining firmly rooted in the Elder Scrolls universe. The Elder Scrolls 6 should look stunning with the power of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, as well as the upcoming gaming PC hardware. When the game finally comes out, we expect to see a lot of spectacular social media screenshots of views and skylines.

The Elder Scrolls 6 features and mods

Skyrim became a game that could be played in virtual reality after spreading across a variety of devices. As one of the best VR games, we highly recommend it (opens in new tab). That’s why we wouldn’t be surprised if The Elder Scrolls 6 builds on that and delivers a more sophisticated and dynamic virtual experience for folks who have strong PCs and some of the top VR gear you can buy.

For the first time since the game’s debut in late 2011, Skyrim can still seem like a new experience nearly a decade later thanks to the mod community’s support. The PC version of Skyrim now has simple support for Steam Workshop mods. There should be at least the same level of mod support in The Elder Scrolls 6. Even if the Nintendo Switch 2 comes out in the next several years, we’d like to see some kind of mod support for this game on that platform.

The Elder Scrolls 6 might be a worthy successor to Skyrim if Bethesda is able to pull it off, as well as produce an engaging open-world game with a spectacular plot and creative gaming features. It will be some time before we can get a clear picture of how the game will look, so keep checking back for updates.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Xbox and PC exclusive

However, despite Skyrim’s success as a multi-platform game, it appears that The Elder Scrolls 6 will only be available on Xbox consoles and Windows 10 PCs.

Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, confirmed this by saying to GQ that: “Because I firmly think that all platforms are capable of growth, it isn’t about penalizing any one in particular. As long as we can deliver the whole range of features that we have, I want us to stay on Xbox. When I think about the Elder Scrolls VI, this is also true. When I think of any of our franchises, this is true.”

The Elder Scrolls 6 won’t be coming to the PlayStation 5, according to Spencer. This may disappoint some, but the PlayStation 5 will continue to have its own unique games in the future. Because of this, it’s imperative that you have both consoles on hand, assuming you can locate them.

The Elder Scrolls 6 outlook

Because we know so little about The Elder Scrolls 6m, making predictions regarding its trajectory is nearly impossible. A new epic-scale fantasy open-world game from Bethesda would be a welcome addition.

When it comes to the development of Bethesda Game Studios’ new Elder Scrolls, it may be possible that Microsoft’s tech and skills can help make the game more polished at launch and more expansive than ever before.
