Leaked renderings of Sony’s 2022 flagship Android smartphone have shown it in all its boxy, flat-sided splendour.
The Xperia 1 III’s successor, the Xperia 1 IV, is due in 2021, and it’ll be identifiable as a Sony device right away. The design resembles the Xperia 1 III, although the edges have been made even thinner.
We can see the shutter button on the bottom right side, the power button fitted with a fingerprint sensor in the centre, and the volume rocker above it.
Non-curved display with matching top and bottom bezels is on the front. That top bezel houses the selfie camera. There are three sensors and an LED flash in the back camera module, which is well-known and recognisable. The SIM card slot and USB-C port are located in the device’s base. The top of the phone still has a 3.5mm headphone port, but that’s all; no Google Assistant key can be found.
For the time being, that’s all we know, but with the floodgates now open, expect more leaks, so stay tuned.
