Neither the keyboard nor the trackpad have been upgraded. However, the Force Touch trackpad is one of the best on the market, and typing on MacBooks has dramatically improved since Apple switched from the Butterfly keyboard mechanism to a scissor key mechanism.

The new MacBook Pros have SD card readers and HDMI connectors as well, but a leaked specification for the MacBook Air says it will only have USB-C connections, which is also worth mentioning. That’s not a big concern because USB-C allows for increased connectivity, but those who want additional ports may have to accept the dongle lifestyle.
MacBook Air 2022 specs
