Some doubts have been raised by the recent Google Pixel 6 update.

Updates are being sent out for the Google Pixel 6 range with the same “Feb 2022” designation, but there’s no indication of what they really do.

This second update is only being provided for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones, but what it accomplishes is still unknown. As a result, the fact that this patch was released mid-month shows that it is of significant importance to the company.

9to5Google: Google believes that this upgrade will help with the recent launches of the Pixel 6 series in Italy, Spain, and Singapore. As a result of Google’s decision to use a single global version of Android rather than several regional builds, everyone else gets the latest update automatically.

Another possibility is that the update is meant to address some of the issues that users have been encountering with the Pixel 6 series. Some customers report that the most recent update introduced additional Wi-Fi difficulties while attempting to fix issues with the camera and Bluetooth. Because no one at Tom’s Guide was personally affected, we couldn’t confirm whether these were isolated cases.

The inability to connect to the internet is a severe problem. In spite of the fact that cellular data may be used to get past it, it is quite likely that data limitations would have kept some of those impacted customers disconnected. It’s understandable that Google would be eager to address this issue as soon as possible.

We can only assume until we receive official release notes from Google. Still, updates are crucial, and this one is more so because of the odd delivery timetable. Because of this, users of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro should download and install it immediately.

The 10.25MB update is now being sent out to users. Since last week’s update, the SQ1D.220205.004 version has been released. It’s possible that you may have to go into your settings to get the updated version loaded, nevertheless

This morning, the Pixel 6 Pro of Tom’s Guide Editor in Chief Marc McLaren was asked to install the new software, while the Pixel 6 Pro of my own had to be manually prompted. So, make sure to check the Settings > System > System Update menu option on your browser. Despite the modest file size, it may take some time to download and install.
