Season 5 of Yellowstone is gearing up for its fall trek! Currently filming is taking place in Montana as part of the Paramount Network’s November 2015 release schedule. Season 5 of Yellowstone will have 14 episodes, making it the longest in the show’s history. As a result, the Dutton family saga will be given an extra dosage of attention.
One of the most popular television shows is Yellowstone. Overall, 9.3 million people tuned in to watch the season 4 finale on Live+Same Day. An unprecedented surge in interest spawned the Paramount Plus prequel Yellowstone 1883 and another proposed spinoff, 6666.
Some have compared Yellowstone to “Succession on a ranch” because of the complex interplay between family dynamics and business (though resulting in fewer memes). Kevin Costner’s John Dutton is as vicious a father figure as Logan Roy. There are clear similarities, especially in Beth Dutton’s (Kelly Reilly) turbulent relationship with her adoptive brother, Jamie Dutton (Jason Biggs) (Wes Bentley). Shiv and Roman influenced!
Succession, on the other hand, is all about corporate skulduggery. Every character has a stake in the game’s outcome. And we can expect the following chapter to be just as cruel, if not more so.

Release date for season 5 of Yellowstone
It has been announced that the fifth season of Yellowstone will premiere on Sunday, November 13.
Season 5 of Yellowstone will feature 14 episodes, the most of any prior season. However, the two seven-episode batches will be split into two separate groups.
For Yellowstone premieres, November seems to be the new standard. As a tribute to Father’s Day, Yellowstone premiered its first three seasons in June. The pandemic, on the other hand, threw a wrench in the works for Season 4, which premiered in November of that year.
The cast of Yellowstone season 5
There has been no formal announcement of the cast for Yellowstone season 5, but the majority of the main players are expected to return.
Costner’s performance as John Dutton, the ranch’s patriarch, is unquestionably at the top of this list.
John’s children are played by Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, a former US Navy SEAL, Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton, a banker, and Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton, an attorney and aspiring politician who was adopted by John. They are all played by Wes Bentley.
Additionally, the following people are scheduled to return to the show:
- Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, the ranch foreman and love interest of Beth
- Kelsey Asbille as Monica Long Dutton, Kayce’s wife who is Native American
- Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton, Kayce and Monica’s son
- Gil Birmingham as Chief Thomas Rainwater, chief of the nearby Native American tribe
- Jacki Weaver as Caroline Warner, the CEO of Market Equities
- Piper Perabo as Summer Higgins, an environmental activist and John’s love interest
- Forrie J. Smith as Lloyd Pierce, a senior ranch hand
- Denim Richards as Colby, a ranch hand
- Ryan Bingham as Walker, a former prisoner turned ranch hand
This season’s cast member Jefferson White is scheduled to join the 6666 spin-off as ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom.
The renewal of Yellowstone for a fifth season was accompanied by two cast changes. There are now regular roles for Kathryn Kelly (Emily) and Jen Landon (Teater).

Jamie shot and killed his biological father, Garrett Randall, who planned the attacks on his adoptive father and brothers. However, he was photographed by Beth while disposing of the body at the “train station.” In the words of his sister, “You’re mine now.” They talk about how John “owns” Jamie later on.
It’s hardly good news for his gubernatorial ambitions that the wayward child now has so much at stake. It appears that John will be able to take over as president without any major obstacles in his way.
Market Equities will most likely be attacked by Beth using Jamie as a pawn. By firing Beth Warner, the company’s CEO Caroline Warner pledged to transform the family property into an open-air restroom.
After returning from his spirit quest, Kayce was told that he would have to make a choice. He may inherit the ranch, or he could go in a different direction. While at home, Kayce tells Monica that he saw the end of them.
Summer, the activist/one-night stand, received a hefty jail term in court, which bothered John. His vow was to assist her in the appeal process. And who knows, maybe in the near future he’ll be in a position of even more political influence to do so.
