There will be more than just the Xiaomi 12 on display on March 15 when the device is officially unveiled in China.

A teaser for the event references the Xiaomi 12 ‘series’, meaning more than one phone will be having a worldwide debut, and knowing that numerous members of the Xiaomi 12 family have already arrived in China, we have a fair idea of what.

But Xiaomi may not stop with only the phones it’s introduced in China, as there are rumours of more members of the Xiaomi 12 family too.

Below then, we’ve listed every known or speculated Xiaomi 12 model — beginning with the ones that we anticipate to see on March 15 and followed by those that we don’t.

Four things we expect to see

The following four items all have a fair chance of being presented during the Xiaomi 12 launch. Some of them, in fact, will undoubtedly be observed.

Xiaomi’s latest smartphone, the Xiaomi 12

The Xiaomi 12 will, of course, make an appearance at the Xiaomi 12 launch, and we already know what to anticipate from it — apart from pricing and availability information – since it was previously introduced in China.

The Xiaomi 12 includes a top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 engine, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, a triple-lens camera lead by a 50MP sensor, a 4,500mAh battery with 67W charging, and a 6.28-inch 1080 x 2400 OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro

We’re anticipating the Xiaomi 12 Pro to be introduced with the Xiaomi 12 in the international market, but it’s possible that it won’t, depending on the company’s international strategy.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 6.73-inch 1440 x 3200 AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, a 4,600mAh battery with remarkably speedy 120W charging, and a triple-lens camera, with 50MP sensors for main, ultra-wide and telephoto lenses.

The Xiaomi 12X

A worldwide launch for the Xiaomi 12X, which was announced in China as the line’s third and final edition, is far from certain.

But we’re adding it in this area since MySmartPrice claims to have discovered European pricing for the phone from “industry sources.” Of course, there wouldn’t be European pricing for it if it wasn’t receiving a broader rollout — but this is only a leak for now, so we’d take it with a grain of salt.

In any event, the Xiaomi 12X is almost similar to the Xiaomi 12, with the exception of the Snapdragon 870 processor, which is somewhat less powerful and consequently cheaper.

Given how similar this gadget is it appears a little specialised, which is why we remain somewhat doubtful that it will have a worldwide launch, although leaks do indicate it may.

Xiaomi 12 Lite

The Xiaomi 12 Lite hasn’t been unveiled anywhere yet, so we’re less sure that we’ll see this than any of the phones above, but it’s rumoured to exist, and appears to have been certified by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), which is something that would typically happen shortly before a launch in Europe.

The Xiaomi 12 Lite is believed to include a 6.55-inch 1080 x 2400 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a triple-lens camera featuring a 64MP primary sensor, and a mid-range Snapdragon 7-series CPU.

Three surprises we didn’t anticipate coming

There are numerous additional speculated members of the Xiaomi 12 series, but we’re not expecting to see them on March 15, as described below.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra

There have been various reports of a Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which is said to be positioned above the Xiaomi 12 Pro even more. The existence of this phone would make sense too, given there existed a Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.

But current sources imply it won’t launch till July, and there’s significant debate about whether this phone really exists. So if it debuts at all it probably won’t do for at least four months yet. The camera on this phone might see an increase to seven lenses, which would be a significant improvement.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced

While it is not confirmed yet, there are rumblings of a Xiaomi Ultra 12 that might replace the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

We don’t know anything about this phone yet, so it’s not obvious what areas it would be improved in, but because we doubt we’ll see the Xiaomi 12 Ultra on March 15, we’re much less certain we’ll see the Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced.

As there’s so little information about this phone it may well not exist anyhow, and if it does it could not wind up being widely accessible, as it seems like it might be a niche – and pricey – item.

Xiaomi 12 Mini

In addition to the Xiaomi 12, there has been speculation of a smaller Xiaomi 12 Mini. However, since most leaks are contradictory or vague, we are sceptical that this will be a genuine product.

We’d be shocked if this releases at all, and much more so if it arrives at the forthcoming event, given we haven’t heard any hints that it will come there.
