In addition, the power and range of these models have been lowered, although the cheaper price reflects this. Arrival is scheduled for Fall 2022, with the Pickup EV3X as its initial model. In light of Tesla’s recent Cybertruck debacle, Hummer now has an additional edge against Tesla.

There can be no question that the GMC Hummer EV is an iconic Hummer design. There’s a lot of room inside, thanks to its size, width, and length. It features a more rounded shape than a regular gas Hummer with LED headlights to match.

With seating for five passengers and a slew of high-tech gadgets, you’d expect nothing less from a vehicle this pricey. A 12.3-inch gauge cluster and a 13.4-inch touchscreen control panel are among them.

To be sure, Elon Musk’s Tesla Cybertruck is an oddity, looking more like something out of a ’90s cyberpunk game than any other truck we’ve ever seen. I like the way it looks since it’s angular, flat, and sticks out from the others. The Hummer, on the other hand, has a whole new set of issues to deal with.

The design of the seats and dash of the Cybertruck was inspired by the outside of the vehicle. There’s only so much Tesla could have done to hide that conspicuous design decision, so naturally the roof is tilted as well.

Still, the yoke steering wheel and the massive touchscreen control panel give it an a “Tesla” vibe. The cabin of the Hummer EV, on the other hand, seems to be a lot more capacious.

Hummer seems to have a significant advantage in this situation. Their size and obnoxiousness is exactly what they’re about. In contrast to the Tesla Cybertruck, which appears like a product of Elon Musk’s imagination, Hummer has simply altered an existing design to match the all-electric future.

The GMC Hummer EV against the Tesla Cybertruck: Power

It’s not uncommon for Hummers to have a lot of horsepower, making them ideal for off-road driving. The Edition 1 Hummer EV, for example, has a whopping 1,000 horsepower. For example, the EV3X has 800 horsepower, but the EV2X has just 625 horsepower.

The Cybertruck’s horsepower has yet to be disclosed by Tesla, although Motor Trend predicts that it might have anywhere from 690 to 800 HP. The three-motor version of the Cybertruck can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, while the dual-motor model can do it in 4.5 seconds, and the single-motor variant can do so in 6.5 seconds.

That the Hummer has something dubbed WTF Mode, which stands for “Watts to Freedom,” is also worth mentioning. If you’re want to put your vehicle through its paces, this setting is analogous to Tesla’s Ludicrous mode. While driving in WTF mode, you lower the vehicle by a few inches and unleash all 1,000 horsepower. We don’t know for sure whether Tesla will include Ludicrous mode in Cybertruck, but it’s a safe bet that they will.

For now, the Hummer EV is the best bet if you’re looking for hard stats, at least until we receive them from Tesla.

GMC Hummer EV vs. Tesla Cybertruck: Battery and range comparison

EV3X, EV2X, and the Hummer EV2 all have shorter ranges than the 350 miles offered by the Hummer EV Edition 1. That’s outstanding compared to earlier and inexpensive EV vehicles, yet rather typical in the high-end EV industry.

The Hummer’s true benefit is its charging mechanism, as it can take up to 350 kW rates from a suitable DC charger. According to reports, a 100-mile increase in range may be achieved in as little as 10 minutes. The Super Cruise system from General Motors is installed in the GMC Hummer EV, making it capable of Level 2 self-driving. GMC Hummer EV vs. Tesla Cybertruck: Additional features
