It’s not uncommon for sports fans who want to cut the cord to question how they’ll be able to watch ESPN online if they get rid of their cable box. Fortunately, there are a number of alternatives to keep ESPN in your life, including two of the most excellent streaming options available today:
While SportsCenter, the 24-hour newscast on ESPN, is well-known, there’s more to ESPN than simply the news. On any given day, you’ll be able to watch live sporting events, such as NBA games, or discussion programmes like Around the Horn and Pardon The Interruption.
ESPN Plus, the company’s own streaming service, is conspicuously absent from this list. Because ESPN’s cable networks fetch too much money for the streaming service to pass up, we’ll assume this is the case (and that such a deal would lower the price of the agreements with cable companies).

It’s worth noting that ESPN is only available in Sling Orange if you choose Sling TV, which has the cheapest beginning pricing of any package we suggest (and not Sling Blue). This just irritates the crap out of me. There’s an ESPN Plus streaming service, but it’s devoid of any of the network’s TV channels.
Isn’t it strange? According to ESPN’s official website, “A subscription to ESPN+ does not offer you access to watch ESPN’s conventional television networks or their programming. You’ll need a television subscription from a cable, satellite, or digital provider to watch those networks on demand.”
In addition to live NHL, college basketball, PGA tour golf, LaLiga and Bundesliga futbol/soccer and Top Rank boxing, ESPN Plus has its own fair amount of entertainment to entice you to spend $6.99 a month. ESPN Plus has UFC, but it’s an add-on you have to pay for.
