This article compiles all of the information we currently have about the rumoured iPad Pro 2022.

LED Display in a Miniature Size

After introducing a mini-LED display iPad Pro last year, Apple plans to have both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models of the iPad Pro use a mini-LED display in 2022.

“Liquid Retina XDR” is the name given to the iPad Pro’s mini-LED display, which has a high dynamic range, HDR, and true-to-life details. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro’s display now employs over 10,000 LEDs over the back of the display, allowing for full-screen brightness of up to 1,000 nits, peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and a 1 million-to-1 contrast ratio.

Apple’s most costly tablet will no longer be the only one with a high-quality mini-LED display after the upgrade.

Microprocessor 2 Chip

Instead of using an A-series CPU like previous iPad models, the 2021 iPad Pro models will utilise the same M1 chip as the MacBook Air, Mac mini, and 13-inch MacBook Pro.

m2 has a black colour scheme.

Even though it was able to match the speed of a MacBook Pro, it is highly probable that Apple will remain with using Mac CPUs for the iPad Pro. The M2 is projected to be released by Apple in 2022 as the successor to the M1.

MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and iPad Pros will all be updated in 2022 with the M2 processor. However, the GPU possibilities are projected to be upgraded from 7 to 8 cores, to 9 to 10 cores.

The M2 chip is expected to improve on the M1 in terms of speed and efficiency, although specifics are unknown at this time.

Charging using MagSafe

MagSafe wireless charging is expected to be included in the next iteration of the iPad Pro, much like the iPhone, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Although Apple has been exploring the addition of a glass back to the iPad Pro, the company may instead elect to use a bigger Apple logo made of glass that would enable wireless charging.

MagSafe chargers can align with the magnets in Apple’s glass Apple logo, assuming that’s what the company decides to go with. According to reports, one of the iPads being tested by Apple has a more powerful MagSafe magnet and is capable of higher wireless charging speeds than the iPhone.

Reverse Wireless Charging, or RWC,

With MagSafe wireless charging and reverse wireless charging features, the next-generation iPad Pro may be able to charge iPhones, AirPods, and other accessories by resting them on the iPad’s back..

A New Apple Pencil?

In the past, we’ve heard that Apple is working on a new version of the Apple Pencil, but we haven’t heard anything since early 2021. It’s still unclear whether or not we’ll see a new Apple Pencil.

Apple’s pencils come in black and white.

In 2021, there were reports that a black Apple Pencil alternative will be available, but that didn’t materialise.

Chassis Made of Titanium

According to DigiTimes, Apple is developing a titanium iPad chassis to replace the aluminium one now in use. However, titanium is a pricey material, so this may only be available on the most expensive iPads.

The next iPad Pro

Apple is working on OLED displays for future Macs and iPads, although the 2022 iPad Pro versions will still utilise mini-LED displays. OLED iPads may be introduced by Apple in 2023 or 2024, and the iPad Pro may be the first iPad to use an OLED display.

OLED Display on the iPad Pro

For now, the company is working on bigger iPad displays, but they aren’t likely to be released for a few years. OLED technology and larger panels might work together.
