In what seems to be yet another Netflix success, Pieces of Her
Pieces of Her has been one of the greatest streaming hits of the year so far, and that’s no exaggeration. This suspense drama from Netflix is the latest to soar to the top of the most-watched list.
The show premiered last week without much hype, yet it swiftly rose to the top of the most-watched lists in both the United States and the United Kingdom. As viewers binge-watch the eight episodes, the programme has received a positive response on social media, with several ideas and memes being circulated.
Andy, a little girl, learns her mother’s dark background in the aftermath of a fatal incident in Pieces of Her. Andy is soon forced to flee from her mother’s life as a number of people from her mother’s past show up. She must also attempt to figure out what her mother’s true identity is as she goes along. It’s hard not to be intrigued by this.
Toni Collette steals the stage as Andy’s mother, Laura, in the performance starring Bella Heathcote. Prior to The Sixth Sense she had received a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe as well as an Oscar nomination for her performance in the film. After appearing in 2018’s Unbelievable, she’s no stranger to blockbuster Netflix drama series.
Pieces of Her is based on Karin Slaughter’s 2018 book of the same name. On the New York Times best-seller list was the book. Netflix’s rendition may not be the most authentic, but Slaughter told The Washington Post that she loves it and couldn’t be happier with the adjustments.
There are a few narrative strands left unresolved in Pieces of Her, which suggests that a second season is possible. We wouldn’t be surprised if Netflix decided to fast-track additional episodes in the near future based on the show’s immediate appeal with members.
Netflix is off to a great start this month with Pieces of Her. The Adam Project, starring Ryan Reynolds, will premiere this week, while the newest season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive will be available on Netflix the following day. Until then, the second season of Bridgerton will premiere on March 25, and it’s expected to be a huge success.
