What to expect on February 17. OnePlus Nord CE 2
We know that OnePlus will formally launch the OnePlus Nord CE 2 on February 17. Now we have a fresh look at the gadget and confirmation of one of its key specifications.
The render, which is still unofficial, comes from well-known tipster Ishan Agarwal and depicts the handset in Bahamas Blue. The image seems to be on the OnePlus website, but we’re not sure where.
Agarwal also details the Nord CE 2’s features, which include a 6.43-inch AMOLED display, a dual-lens 64MP+8MP rear camera with ultrawide capability, and 1TB of expandable storage. A MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset is also mentioned.

Chipset ok’d
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 will certainly utilise the MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor, with 5G capability, as OnePlus has confirmed on social media.
So you can “multitask like a pro” according to OnePlus. Its cheap CPU should give the Nord CE 2 enough power to go through day-to-day smartphone operations without a sweat, albeit it will be well behind the top phones in benchmarks.

OnePlus is serious about low-cost phones
OnePlus built its reputation by providing flagship-level smartphones at mid-range rates. Take a peek at the freshly revealed OnePlus 10 Pro to discover how proficient the firm is at it.
In recent years, OnePlus has also explored mid-range and inexpensive phones, most of which we’ve liked. The OnePlus Nord launched everything in 2020, and several inexpensive phones followed, including the OnePlus Nord CE last year.
While there are many of great inexpensive phones available right now, it doesn’t appear to be stopping OnePlus from aiming to gain market share in this specific sector. On paper, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 seems to be a good value for money device.
Wait and see how the Oppo and OnePlus merger impacts this approach moving ahead – it’s conceivable that fewer phones will be issued overall – but we’re excited to see the OnePlus Nord CE 2’s features.
