Adding Dutch language speech recognition to Siri in the newest beta of the HomePod mini further prepares the device for distribution in the Netherlands.

iCulture reports that HomePod and HomePod mini will be able to recognise the members of a multi-person Dutch-speaking home who are speaking to it, allowing them to make personalised requests based on their own data. Siri now supports the Dutch language as well, which was added in December.

With compatibility for languages spoken in Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, and Russia, the HomePod mini is expected to debut in at least four more countries in 2022 — including Russia.

Up to six people in a household may utilise Siri speech recognition with the HomePod 15.3 software update that was released earlier this year.

First introduced in October 2020, the HomePod small may be purchased at this time in the following countries: the United States; Australia; Austria; Canada; China; France; Germany; Hong Kong; India; Ireland; Italy; Japan; Mexico; New Zealand; Spain; and the United Kingdom.

In November 2021, Apple started selling the HomePod small in three different colours: yellow, orange, and blue.
