With the most recent update to Steam Deck, users will be able to set performance profiles for individual games.
However, Steam Deck just received an upgrade that gamers have been begging for for a long time. As of the most recent Steam Deck update, you could customise the parameters of every game to your heart’s content. Because Steam Deck didn’t retain these adjustments, you had to re-enter the combination of parameters every time you wanted to play a new game.
That has all been altered with the most recent Steam Deck update. Because each game will now have its own performance profile, you won’t have to rely on memory to save the settings you enter for each game.
Valve’s portable gaming PC is most known for its AMD RDNA 2 graphics and 40 watt-hour battery, but this upgrade dramatically enhances each game’s performance. Reduce the refresh rate of your screen to boost frame rate and reduce latency, or you can throttle the CPU and GPU to offer you the best settings for each game.
The Quick Access menu now includes the new function. Enter Performance and Advanced View from there. Please select the toggle settings for each game in this section to suit your preferences. When you open a new game, the preferences should be remembered and launched automatically. Even if you turn off the feature, it will return to the system’s global settings.
On the other hand, if you want to maximise battery life while on the go, you can turn down the full throttle in games that don’t require it. In games like Elden Ring or Vampire Survivors, you can also tweak the settings to get the most out of your hardware. The Steam Deck should now be an even better mobile gaming PC.
You can no longer store or share multiple profiles with the rest of the community after the update. Because it would be wonderful to have optimum peak performance or battery-saving profiles for various games without having to conduct our own testing, we’re crossing our fingers that it will be added soon.
The virtual resolution when linked to a remote display has been increased to 1280 x 800 as a result of this upgrade. Depending on where you are, you may need a different keyboard layout.
Early adopters have been very complimentary about Steam Deck. Despite stock problems, it was able to fix them thanks to regular updates on shipments.
