Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release in 2018, but when will we be back in the Spider-Verse with the sequel?
The second instalment of the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse franchise has been delayed even again. However, how long will we have to wait for the sequel to last year’s best animated movie Oscar winner? What will happen in the movie?
As the title suggests, there are certain to be a number of intriguing interpretations of Spider-Man, but there are also a number of hints that assist build a better image. Spider-Verse is now more canonical than ever, since the live-action Spider-Man: No Way Home is expected to contain numerous Spideys.
The first Spider-Verse animated film rapidly swung into the hearts of fans worldwide because to its fantastic blend of humour, uplifting concepts and eye-grabbingly vivid graphics, which were primarily inspired by Dan Slott’s original 2014 comic run.

The release date of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2
Even though animated films need longer production times than live-action ones, Sony Pictures has already set a release date for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2. It’s possible that Mile Morales and pals will return on June 2, 2023 if all goes according to plan.
Confused? Is it still on the calendar for Oct. 7, 2022? After Sony’s announcement of a delay on April 21, we’re not happy about it either.
The originally stated release date of April 8, 2022, has been postponed due to a series of film delays associated with Covid-19. Spider-Twitter Verse’s account revealed the date in November, along with a GIF that hints at which new Spider-Man characters fans may look forwards to seeing in the next film (more on that later). Even more firmly established was Christopher Miller’s tweet announcing the date and saying “we’re coming back.”
According to a Hollywood Reporter article published in November 2018, Sony is interested in making an all-female Spider-Gwen movie, but no release date has been announced for any of the other anticipated spin-off movies presently in production. That being said, don’t hold your breath for it until the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, set for release in the year 2022.
The first look and trailer rumours for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2
We may anticipate a full teaser for Spider-Verse 2 next year, given the film’s 2023 release date. We’ve had a taste of the movie thus far, however, thanks to the “first peek” below.
Before Spider-Man: No Way Home, we were given a glimpse of the animated Spider-Man 2099 in this clip (to be voiced by Oscar Isaac).
Given how No Way Home may deal with multiverse logic, we may envisage an end-credits sequence that riffs on Spider-Verse 2 at the conclusion.
The cast of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2.
There was no shortage of fascinating characters in the original Into the Spider-Verse, so it’s safe to assume that more will make their appearance in the sequel. Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will reprise their roles as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacey, respectively, in the next season.
Issa Rae will play Spider-Woman, while Oscar Isaac will take on the role of Spider-Man 2099.
A villain to go up against Miles and the group would be nice, however. Is Katheryn Han going to have a larger part in the next film? That’s what co-director Rodney Rothman told Screen Rant in April. If what he said about Liv is true, then she won’t be playing second fiddle to someone like Kingpin anymore, as he said.
However, Sony has been mum on whether Ock would become the new Spiderverse crew’s core bad guy, but we can expect to see a lot more of her. In terms of any other villains, Tombstone, Scorpion, and the Green Goblin all survived the previous film, so there’s a good possibility they’ll appear again.
Plan for the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

The upcoming Spider-Women spinoff (authored by Bek Smith) has also been brought up by Pascal. There is a good chance that Spider-Verse 2 will set things in motion. Spider-Gwen, Cindy Moon (Silk), and Jessica Drew will star in the film (Spider-Woman).
