A follow-up to Sony LinkBuds true wireless earbuds is expected to be released on Wednesday, May 18, if the newest leak from the rumour mill is to be believed, according to the latest reports.

Jon Prosser, a well-known informant, claims that the earbuds will be unveiled on that day, according to the leak. Additionally, Sony’s flagship WH-1000XM5 headphones, according to him, will be on sale on May 12.

It’s too early to tell whether the Sony LinkBuds S will include the hole in the middle of the earbuds that was present in the original model, but a spherical vent near the ear canal is expected to replace it.

Having to foot the bill

He also revealed Sony LinkBuds S price information: $199 (approximately $160/$AU280). Compared to the $179 / £149 / AU$299 price tag of their predecessors, we’re looking at a little more costly option.

Recently, there have been a lot of Sony leaks, including the Sony WH-1000XM5 over-ear headphones, which might have improved battery life and more intelligent noise cancelling.

As soon as the headphones and earbuds are released in the next week, we’ll know for sure what we’re dealing with. As usual, we’ll keep you up to date on all of the latest developments and announcements.

More options than ever before

As soon as the Sony LinkBuds S are released, we’ll be able to choose between two outstanding sets of wireless earbuds from the same manufacturer: the Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds and the Sony LinkBuds S.

Manufacturers are hurrying to get more of these items on the market because they know they’re a great hit with customers. We anticipate the long-awaited AirPods Pro 2 to be released before the end of the year, thanks to Apple’s involvement.

As for Google, the Pixel Buds A-Series are now on the market, and there are reports that the Pixel Buds Pro are on the way, which will be more pricey and feature-rich.

The best wireless earbuds we’ve reviewed should help you choose the correct pair for your ears and requirements, but keep an eye out for upcoming releases since the perfect earphones for you may not be available yet.
