When it comes to pricing, Sennheiser has lowered the MSRP of its Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds to $249.95 (£219.99), which is cheaper than the price of its predecessor.

In terms of overall sound quality, Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 2 beat the AirPods Pro by a wide margin, and the next-generation model looks to bring even more of the same high-quality sound delivery with improved noise-canceling technology while undercutting its predecessors and close rivals on price.

In addition to black and white, the newest True Wireless earbuds come in a graphite colour, providing customers more choices to match their unique style.

The Momentum True Wireless 3 features the same 7mm True Response speaker driver as its predecessor, but the ANC performance has been upgraded with adaptive technology that automatically changes the amount of cancellation to your surroundings for improved ambient noise isolation. Improved transparency mode and three microphones per earphone are said to improve call quality.

Using a new Sound Personalization function, the Momentum True Wireless 3 headphones may be tuned to the wearer’s hearing.

Using a guided listening exam and a new Sound Personalization function, users may customise their earbud sound to match their own unique hearing needs and preferences. Presets and an equalisation are also available in the Smart Control App, which lets users customise the sound based on their preferences. To handle high-resolution streaming material as effectively as possible, codec support has been expanded to include aptX Adaptive, which combines the sound quality of aptX HD with the low latency of aptX Low Latency.

No matter how much progress is made elsewhere in technology, the battery life still stands at up to 7 hours of playing time without ANC and an additional 28-hours of playback time with the charging case. Frank Foppe, Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 3 product manager, was quick to point out at a pre-launch product briefing that battery life numbers with ANC enabled are around 6.5 hours and approximately 27 hours, which is very reasonable.

The Momentum Wireless 3s have the same IPX4 water resistance certification as their predecessors, so it seems Sennheiser hasn’t improved it this time around.

Pre-orders for the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless are being taken now until May 10th. We’ll have a comprehensive review of the Momentum True Wireless 3 soon after the launch announcement to evaluate how it stacks up against its predecessor and how well it competes with similarly priced noise-cancelling earbuds.
