Samsung has begun to integrate Samsung Pass into Samsung Pay, the company stated today. Users in South Korea will have their digital passes, cards and smart locks instantly transferred to Pay. Other localities are anticipated to follow suit in the not too distant future.
You can keep credit cards, debit cards, and even some membership cards in Samsung Pay, which is the company’s in-house payment system. The Samsung Pay app will be updated for all Samsung devices in South Korea running Android 9 or above.
A SmartThings-compatible digital key for a smart lock is also just a tap away, and travel tickets are now easy to locate. The new mega app will also be able to accommodate select Korean Air and Megabox movie tickets.
“More convenient experience” is the driving force for this combination according to Samsung’s VP of Digital Life Team, MX Division, Jini Han. Paying for things like a home, automobile, public transit, or cultural experiences will soon be part of the ecosystem as well.
