Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 rumored no fingerprint scanner upgrade

So, what’s the problem with power button biometric sensors?

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 camera might get a major upgrade

Despite the lack of a fingerprint sensor improvement for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 this year, it may be for the better.

According to a rumour from Business Korea, Samsung’s upcoming foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, will keep fingerprint sensors integrated into their power buttons (opens in new tab).

However, Samsung has opted to leave the fingerprint sensors in the power buttons on the alleged fourth-generation foldables for simplicity of use, according to a recent report. We may instead see the upgraded sensors on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.

Even though the under-display fingerprint reader on the Galaxy S22 series is so quick and responsive, I’d normally be sad that a phone wasn’t receiving an exciting-sounding improvement such as this. Foldables should have side-mounted fingerprint sensors rather than under-display ones, in my opinion.

When the phone is folded or unfolded, the fingerprint sensors remain in the same area, making it easier to get your finger in the correct spot. You also don’t have to use your other hand to get your finger in the appropriate spot.

In a Samsung patent, a two-sided fingerprint sensor is described for a foldable tablet. It is located in the centre of the cover screen, but may be accessible on the left side of the inner display when it is opened. Even while you’ll likely have to register more fingerprints in order to use the phone in both folded and unfolded modes, it’s still arguably the greatest choice Samsung has for now.

According to a source from BusinessKorea, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Z Flip 4 might arrive in the third quarter of this year, much as the previous iteration did in 2021. As of now, the most common rumours surrounding the Z Fold 4 are that it will include the same telephoto camera as the Galaxy S22, as well as a redesigned hinge design and a more durable display to accommodate the device’s reported integrated S Pen.

In contrast to the Z Flip 4, leaks about the Z Flip 4 have been few and far between. Both phones’ names may be changed to avoid similarity to a symbol used by the Russian army when it invades Ukraine.
