The display of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 may be improved so that the S Pen can be used more effectively.
An S Pen-friendly display has been tipped for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, which is expected to have a more durable and better-quality display than the one seen on the Z Fold 3.
Sources in the Korean supply chain were cited by leaker yeux1122 on the Korean blogging site Naver (through Twitter leaker Dohyun Kim). Using a S Pen pen, it is said that Samsung is focusing on making the Z Fold 4’s display tougher and higher quality than the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
A stylus integration within the Z Fold 4 was previously speculated, after Samsung’s standalone S Pen support for the Z Fold 3. It would make sense to include it, given the size of the screen you’ll be using it on. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, which was given a Galaxy Note-style facelift, with a built-in S Pen, only last month, would look good next to the Z Fold 4.
Samsung’s Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) glass was utilised in the screens of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the original Galaxy Flip. For the most part this is a sandwich of glass and plastic that is designed to make the display flexible but more durable than an all-plastic folding display.
According to user yeux1122, these alterations might indicate that Samsung is rebranding UTG. “Super UTG” is a name that makes sense yet does not appear in the leak, unlike the rest of it.
It’s unclear exactly how these display tweaks will enhance the writing experience. However, we may assume that writing on a tougher display would be more comfortable. Fold Edition S Pen has a retractable tip to prevent excessive pressure on the display, so it doesn’t feel like a typical pen or stylus to write with. With its enhanced display, the Z Fold 4 may be able to accommodate a typical fixed-tipped pen.
Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip 4 are expected to be released in August of this year, the same time frame as the previous generation’s introduction in 2021. Z Fold 4 is said to include a larger outside display and a better under-display camera in the internal display, which improves on two of the Z Fold 3’s weaknesses.
The Z Fold 4 is also expected to be less expensive than the Z Fold 3. Because the Z Fold 3 costs $1,800 new features would be much more significant.
