Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro won’t have a rotating bezel, leaker reveals

Samsung is reportedly working on three different smartwatch models for the Galaxy Watch5 generation, with the code names Heart-S, Heart-L, and Heart-Pro. According to what you may have guessed, these are likely sizes for a regular version as well as a Pro version. The Classic version has been omitted from this iteration.

Is this a sign that the bezel will no longer be able to rotate? The vanilla Watch4 was missing this feature. The upcoming Galaxy Watch5 Pro model was expected to carry on this tradition, but reports from Ice Universe have put that to rest.

The touchscreen on several prior Samsung watches attempted to imitate this physical capability, but it never functioned quite as effectively. As a unique feature in the smartwatch market, the rotating bezel had no effect on the watch’s waterproofing or durability. It’s unclear why Samsung would want to delete it.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro has gotten a lot of attention. It looks great. Titanium and sapphire glass, a huge 572mAh battery, and perhaps a thermometer are all features that could be included. However, there has been no word on a bezel, and we had hoped that this was a sign of good things to come. It’s possible, though, that this is not true.

There is a good chance the Watch4 series will be released in early August like last year’s launch of Samsung’s new foldable phones.
