Samsung Galaxy S23 tipped with higher-res selfie camera

A 10MP selfie camera was added to the Samsung Galaxy S10 in 2019, an improvement over the S9’s 8MP front-facing camera.

The selfie camera on the S21 and S22 series phones, on the other hand, has not altered (except the Ultra models). However, according to a fresh source, Samsung is considering using 12MP cameras next year, which may change things.

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 and S23+ are said to include 12MP front-facing cameras, according to Dutch publication GalaxyClub. Punch holes may be used, but it’s not obvious if they will be placed inside of them or on top of them. Front cameras may or may not include optical image stabilization (OIS).

Whether the selfie camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra will increase in megapixels from the S22 Ultra’s 40MP is likewise an open question.

It’s still a while before the Galaxy S23 series goes on sale, so we should expect to hear more about it soon.
