Rogue Squadron, the next Star Wars film, has a lot of information thus far.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron will bring the force back to the big screen after a long hiatus from new Star Wars movies. Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman 1984, Monster) is at the helm to carve new ground in the galaxy far, far away, as well as a release date.

There will be a lot of discussion about the narrative of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron since Disney and Jenkins are combining aspects from the Extended Universe novels and video games with a great deal of new material. Starfighter pilots will be introduced in a “boundary-pushing, high-speed thrill ride,” according to the official Lucasfilm statement. “The plot will propel the saga into the future period of galaxy.”

In order to whet our appetites in anticipation of her Star Wars debut, filmmaker Patty Jenkins shared a sneak peek of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron in the form of the following clip:

The storey of the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron film

This isn’t the same Star Wars: Rogue Squadron you’ve played or read about in video games and comics. But don’t worry, I’m here to help.

According to Patty Jenkins, this is what she said to IGN “With a lot of inspiration from video games and novels, we’re creating something new. It’s an unique narrative, and I’m delighted to be a part of the process.” “It [the film] must be taken to a new era because we have to tell a new tale with it,” she said in an interview with AP, echoing her previous comments.

Michael Stackpole, the creator of the Star Wars Extended Universe, informed him that Jenkins “had been in touch with him early on,” according to a tweet from @Jedi4Liberty user “just brad”

In other words, we may assume the film will make a nod to Wedge Antilles, the man responsible for assembling the first Rogue Squadron of pilots (which Luke Skywalker captained). When it was announced that “In order to give maximum creative freedom to the filmmakers and also preserve an element of surprise and discovery for the audience, Star Wars Episodes VII-IX will not tell the same storey told in the post-Return of the Jedi Expanded Universe,” the Rogue Squadron books were effectively wiped out from the Star Wars universe.

It was said that “Creators of new Star Wars entertainment have full access to the rich information of the Expanded Universe,” which is how Jenkins will be able to make reference to what is essential, without being fully tethered to the novels, in that same release from the guys behind Star Wars.

In addition, Jenkins told THR that the picture might serve as a springboard for the post-Skywalker Saga period “For me, it’s an honour and a privilege to be part of the next chapter of Star Wars, which comes with both the weight of great duty and the potential for fresh beginnings. As a result, it’s incredibly thrilling.”
