For the Galaxy Watch4, Samsung chose Google Wear OS 3 over Samsung’s Tizen OS. Although the OS is in a strange situation, we seldom get to view the OS in its native state and then only via leaks. The Samsung watches run a version of One UI customised for the Galaxy watches. Both of these watches feature Samsung’s One UI 3 running on top of them. In other words, we haven’t seen anything of Wear OS 3 as of yet.

Thanks to some leaked images spotted on Google Play, we can now get a peek at Wear OS in its stock form.

More Wear OS 3 images have surfaced, this time revealing just the most minute of changes from previous iterations of the OS. A snapshot of Google Assistant shows how these updates have pushed its aesthetics closer to the Material You style seen on Google’s latest operating system, Android 12.

Also noteworthy is the step counter’s new icon, which suggests a possible link with Fitbit. There have been several leaks and speculations about the Google Pixel Watch since it was first rumoured months ago.

Next, we’ll talk about messages. A user’s avatar, name, and last contact time are shown, as well as a few of the most recent messages. You can also see the Messages app’s home screen, where you may start a new conversation and see the most recent conversations.

The Next event tile, YouTube Music, and Google Pay are seen in a few more screenshots here. As you can see below, the design has changed from the prior images (taken in December). Wear OS’s companion app has a slew of brand-new skins, including these.

This might be the first Wear OS 3 device to work flawlessly on Google’s Pixel Watch. End of May is when it’s most likely to be released, along with the Pixel 6a.

The step counter has undergone significant modifications, and the new symbol and colour palette hint it may be going to Fitbit rather than the existing Google Fit solution.

When we get new messages, we’ll see the sender’s avatar with the app symbol, as well as a small dialogue preview.

At Google I/O in May of last year, Wear OS 3 was initially unveiled and is expected to be available on compatible smartwatches in 2022.
