The OnePlus smartphone launch in India’s roadmap has lately appeared online. The OnePlus 10R might arrive as early as the end of May, according to one report. The phone’s specifications have recently been revealed online.
This year’s OnePlus 10R is a direct successor to the OnePlus 9R, which was introduced in India. As it turns out, according to a new rumour from 91Mobiles, the OnePlus 10R might be a rebadged version of the Realme GT Neo 3 in terms of specs. As of this present, the smartphone goes under the codename “pickle.”
We all know that the notion of OnePlus devices running a single operating system (Oppo ColorOS) did not sit well with the bulk of the people. After Oxygen OS 12 was proven to be the operating system for all worldwide variations, the controversy subsided. This time, the re-branding of a Realme phone as a OnePlus device may cause further outcry.
What can we hope for?
An E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate has been said to feature on the OnePlus 10R. The phone’s MediaTek Dimensity 8100 CPU was clearly seen.
You may choose between 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of RAM and storage, depending on your needs. Storage will be UFS 3.1 with LPDDR5 as the RAM type.
What’s surprising is that the phone will almost certainly include OnePlus’s Alert Slider, which is one of the company’s unique selling points. The OnePlus 10R will include a 5000mAh battery with compatibility for 80W fast charging, much as the GT Neo 3.
It has three cameras on the back: a 50MP main shooter with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8MP super wide-angle lens, and an ultra-close-up 2MP lens. A 16MP front-facing camera for taking selfies and participating in video chats might be included in the smartphone.
Is he a worthy successor?
It is evident that the smartphone will have a difficult time succeeding the OnePlus 9R as a respectable replacement. A MediaTek Dimensity chipset would be unable to fill the void left by the OnePlus 9R’s Snapdragon 870 processor.
Both the Snapdragon 870 SoC and Dimensity 8100 SoC were compared. The Snapdragon 870 CPU has somewhat superior performance than Dimensity, as a result of this test.
And it’s an undeniable reality that a rebranded Realme phone will never be as good as a regular OnePlus phone.
