The PlayStation 5 restock shortage is nearing an end. This weekend will see a GameStop PS5 restocking event in-store. In addition, Walmart Plus members can expect a PS5 restock in the near future. For the future, Target has announced a major shift in its PS5 restock policy (which could make it easier for shoppers to get one).
There are still registrations for Sony Direct’s PS5 restocks, which are only open to invitees. Registering does not ensure that you’ll be invited to their invite-only drops, but it’s a great way to get your email on Sony’s radar, increasing your chances of receiving a PS5.

PS5 restocks were extremely busy in April, but quiet in May. However, Matt Swider, a GameStop spokesperson, has confirmed that the retailer will restock PS5 consoles in-store this weekend (Saturday, May 28) In addition, on June 2, Walmart will conduct a PS5 restock. Make sure you’ve signed up for Walmart Plus in advance if you want to take advantage of the drop.
According to a report from Target, the company will no longer be handling PS5 sales the same way, which could give gamers hoping for a next-generation console some hope. Instead of holding restock events, the retailer will allow individual stores to sell stock as it arrives, so check with your nearest location to see if it’s currently selling.
Signing up for PlayStation 5 restock registration is still open, so don’t forget to do so (The last drop was April 25). Even if you don’t end up with a console, you can still get your email in the running for future Sony Direct drops by signing up.
