Motorola seems to be taking another attempt at foldables, at least according to certain reports. As far as we know, the Motorola Razr 3 hasn’t been released yet. Also, according to reports, the phone might be a full-fledged flagship, a folding smartphone of the highest calibre. If you’re looking for the greatest foldable phones, this may be it.

If prior models are any indication, we can anticipate a high-quality product with an engaging design. Motorola may be attempting to make up for the shortcomings of the original Razr and the Razr 5G.

As of right now, not much is known about this phone, but we’ve gathered together the information that is available. These are our expectations for the Motorola Razr 3 and what we’ve learned thus far about the device.

Rumors of a Motorola Razr 3 launch date

Despite the lack of concrete information, German source TechnikNews predicts that the Razr 3 will be available in June 2022. According to the site’s sources, this may or may not be true, so be cautious.

Motorola would have plenty of time to perfect its product if it were to release it this summer. In addition, Android 12L will have more time to develop. Designed for foldables, 12L offers a better UI than what’s currently available.

Razr 3 by Motorola has a display.

We anticipate the Razr 3 to be a clamshell foldable like the previous Razr phones. It is said by XDA that Ross Young from DSCC has stated that the Razr 3 would feature an internal display of 6.7 inches. It’s also said to feature a 2400 x 1080 resolution and a refresh rate of 120 frames per second.

The Razr 5G featured a 2.7-inch cover display, but we have no idea what the exterior display will be. Accordingly, we would anticipate the external screen to grow in size as well.

specifications of the Motorola Razr 3

Razr 3 would have actual flagship specifications unlike its predecessors, according to XDA Developers. According to the site’s source, the phone would be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which is currently the finest chip for Android phones. Compared to the Snapdragon 710 in the Razr (2019) and Razr 5G, this is a huge leap forwards.

Additional RAM and storage options are said to be available. You may have the choice of selecting between 6GB, 8GB, or 12GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage, depending on the model. The previous Razr had just 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Additionally, according to XDA, the Razr 3 will include ultra wideband support. Tracking and unlocking supported autos are made possible by this. More and more high-end smartphones will be equipped with UWB in the near future.

The Razr 3 is rumoured to come pre-loaded with Android 12.

Sony IMX230 sensor

The supposed Razr 3 camera specifications were reportedly divulged by the same source that gave the likely release date, according to TechnikNews. A 50MP OmniVision OV50A primary camera sensor and a 13MP ultrawide camera capable of macro photography are expected. According to the site, the Razr 3 would include a 32MP front-facing camera.

TechnikNews claims that the Razr 3 will be able to capture 4K video at 60 fps on both its back and front-facing cameras. As far as we know, the back camera is capable of recording slow-motion footage at 1080 fps.

This is what we’d want to see in the Motorola Razr 3:

Improved battery life: The original Motorola Razr’s pitiful 2,510 mAh battery is one of the most debilitating flaws. Even with a 3,300 mAh battery, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has battery life issues. Adding a 120Hz display to the Razr 3 will need a larger battery capacity.

The new Razr has a better value proposition than the original Razr, which was overpriced for its mid-tier specifications. Although it featured a nice foldable display, it didn’t even offer 5G connectivity! We’d want to see the Razr 3 be even more competitive than the previous model. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 costs $999.

The Razr 2 has a better build quality than the first Razr, which we thought was a little on the cheap for its pricing. Hope Motorola can address this in the future release. For example, the Flip 3 has a satisfying weight to it. Motorola has a lot of ground to make up in the field of foldables.

For the original Razr, there was just one 16MP back camera, and it wasn’t very impressive. The new Razr has two. We hope that the Razr 3’s cameras are better than those on the Razr 2 and 3. Motorola has no excuse for under-delivering on the Flip 3’s camera capabilities.

The previous Motorola Razrs had a hard time with their durability. As a general folding problem, this has just lately been improved upon. If the Razr 3 is anything like the Galaxy Z Flip 3, we hope so.
