MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE

Hey, Guys welcome back to my new vlog today you will learn How to Make MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE at Home. Your tea is now ready. This tea will rejuvenate and revitalise your body. It also helps to clear your throat and warms your body.

MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE

It was the winter season, and I recall the day vividly since it was Christmas and I was on winter break. I spent my vacations at my grandmother’s house, and she used to offer me milk every morning, but during Christmas, she gave me something extremely nice.

Yesterday was also Christmas, and I bumped into my grandmother; we should regard it as a coincidence that we ran into each other on that day, and the first thing I asked her was about that day and what she gave me to drink.

She stated it was Mexican Hot Chocolate, and when I asked her for the recipe, guess what?

If it’s cold outside, if it’s winter, if it’s snowing, if it’s between the months of December and February, one thing is certain: it’s Mexican Hot Chocolate season!

I’m not the type of person who makes hot chocolate at home. I’ve always preferred eating my dessert versus drinking it. As an example:

  • Milkshakes – no thanks. Unless I can eat it with a spoon, in which case I’d prefer plain ice cream.
  • Dessert cocktails — not a chance. with the exception of eggnog That stuff is delectable. It’s also quite acceptable without alcohol, therefore it doesn’t really qualify as a cocktail.
  • Smoothies that taste too much like dessert are also off limits to me.

Today, I’m going to share my grandmother’s Mexican Hot Chocolate Recipe with you, so you may stay warm in the cold as well. However, we’ve covered many different drink recipes on our blog. You should definitely take a look at them as well.

I know I’m completely bizarre about it. But what about Mexican hot chocolate? That’s another storey, and it’s all because of this recipe.

INGREDIENTS IN MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE

This Mexican hot chocolate is made with genuine milk, unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla extract, cinnamon, chile powder, and a little bittersweet chocolate to make it creamier and smoother. I also added a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy finish, but it’s completely optional.

And of course, marshmallows. Always marshmallows.

THE BEST TOPPINGS FOR MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE

  • marshmallows (my personal favorite!)
  • chocolate shavings
  • sea salt
  • cinnamon sticks
  • a pinch of cayenne or chili powder
  • cajeta (aka Mexican caramel)
  • dulce de leche

While I enjoy sipping this Mexican hot chocolate on its own, I’ve been enjoying it with a little marranito, the recipe for Mexican gingerbread pigs I published last week. The combination of molasses in the marranitos and spices in this hot chocolate is just DELICIOUS.

Imagine curling up on the couch with your favourite Christmas movie on TV, the Christmas tree lit, the fireplace lit, with this Mexican hot chocolate in one hand and a small gingerbread pig in the other.

Life is wonderful.

I hope you like this recipe as much as I do! Happy holidays!
