Mercedes-flagship Benz’s electric SUV will arrive in the United States later this year.
The Mercedes EQS, the luxury vehicle that serves as Mercedes’ current electric flagship, is well-known. Another type, in the form of an SUV, will be released later this year, although it will be a departure from the low, sleek style of the sedan.
The Mercedes EQS SUV seems to have the same features as the standard EQS, but in a larger package. It has a long range, a powerful engine, and all of the luxurious features that you’d expect from a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. In order to compete with the BMW iX and Tesla Model-X premium electric SUVs, Mercedes will need to develop a more powerful battery pack.

Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Price and availability information
There’s no word yet on how much the Mercedes EQS SUV will cost, although it’s estimated to be in the $110,000-130,000 range. The EQS sedan, for example, begins at $102,310 when new.
The EQS SUV is expected to go on sale at some point this year, although no specific date has been set. After the EQC’s indefinite delay, it will be the first Mercedes electric SUV to arrive in the United States with the arrival of the GLE.

With its huge size, the exterior design is identical to the normal EQS sedan, but in a different form factor. The headlamps and false grille stand out at the front, albeit they’ve been extended out a little further this time around.
The form, on the other hand, resembles the Mercedes EQC, another electric SUV from the German carmaker. We can’t tell just how slim the EQS SUV is since we don’t have an official drag coefficient rating for it. Mercedes has hinted that it might be the company’s most aerodynamic SUV ever.
In addition to being 16.8 feet long, the EQS SUV is 6.4 feet wide and 5.6 feet high. The regular EQS model has a wheelbase of 10.5 feet. Under 50 mph, the height may be increased by 25 millimetres, and once you reach 68 miles per hour (mph), it will be lowered by 10-15 millimetres to minimise drag and enhance efficiency.
Digital instrument cluster and 12.8-inch portrait infotainment screen are standard features in the inside of the EQS SUV. Along with previous Mercedes EVs, the new model will include the MBUX operating system, which includes “Hey Mercedes” voice commands, wireless software upgrades, and an optional augmented reality heads-up display (HUD).
The Hyperscreen display, which combines a 12.3-inch gauge cluster with a 17.7-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch passengers display beneath a single pane of glass, is included with the EQS 580. Virtually the whole length of the dash is covered by the Hyperscreen, which requires 24 gigabytes of RAM to function.
Touchscreen screens and a fold-down armrest with cupholders have been installed in the back of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Despite the fact that the middle seat is no longer available.
The optional third row of seats will allow the vehicle to accommodate up to seven passengers, as with any excellent SUV. However, the five-seater version has an impressive 31 cubic feet of storage capacity. Like previous Mercedes EQ automobiles, it does not have a frunk behind the hood..
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: Performance and range
A single-motor rear-wheel drive (EQS 450+) and a dual-motor all wheel drive (EQS 450) have been confirmed to be on sale (EQS 450 4Matic). There will be 355 horsepower and 419lb ft and 590lb ft of torque in both vehicles.
With 536 horsepower and 632 pounds of torque, Mercedes is also launching an AWD model, the AWD EQS 580 4Matic.
The RWD 450+ model’s speed and 0-60 speeds are still a mystery, although the WLTP testing cycle predicts a range of 333 to 410 miles. More than 300 miles of range are possible with the 450 and 580 4Matic models.
Expect those estimates to alter, given that the baseline electric vehicle (EQS) gives up to 453 miles of range per WLTP testing and only 350 miles in the U.S. EPA testing cycle.
The EQS sedan’s 107.8 kWh battery powers all variants, and a 200 kW fast charging technology is available for quick recharging. To go from 10% to 80% in 31 minutes, Mercedes claims.
The Future of Mercedes EQS SUV
EQS is an essential model for Mercedes-Benz since it is an all-terrain vehicle. Not only is it the company’s first all-electric SUV, but it is also a new flagship EV and a roomier alternative to its EQS sedan. As competition in the SUV market heats up, the EQS SUV is under more scrutiny for its performance.
However, it seems that Mercedes has already checked all the proper boxes. All of the features you would expect from a high-end electric vehicle are included in the EQS SUV, which is both luxurious on the exterior and amazing to look at within. We don’t know everything yet, and that includes the price, but thus far, things are looking well.
