MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000+ boosts performance and ISP

New flagship chips from MediaTek have recently been revealed. The Dimensity 9000+ has arrived, bringing a few improvements over the previous model. The picture signal processing and 5G modem have also been improved, in addition to the 5 percent CPU and 10 percent graphics boosts.

The Cortex-X2 high-performance core of the Dimensity 9000+ has been boosted from 3.05GHz to 3.2GHz. Three Cortex-A710 cores and four high-efficiency Cortex-A510 cores are still part of the 1+3+4 configuration. The Mali-G710 MC10 is the upgraded GPU.

The Imagiq 790 from MediaTek is able to record three cameras in 18-bit HDR at the same time. Still photos up to 320MP can be captured and processed at a rate of 9 gigapixels per second. AI noise reduction is also supported for 4K HDR video.

Using 3CC carrier aggregation, the downlink speed of the 5G modem may be increased to 7Gbps. Support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and MiraVision 790 for WDHD+ displays with frame rates of up to 180Hz, as well as Wi-Fi display support for HDR video at 4K60, is also included in this release.

In the third quarter of this year, MediaTek expects the Dimensity 9000+ to be available on smartphones.
