Fans of Hell’s Kitchen’s favourite Defender will be overjoyed to hear this news! Reports have surfaced that Disney+ will get a Daredevil series, which is a good hint that the character’s recent MCU debut is more than one episode.

There has been no official statement from Disney or the show’s purported writers/executive producers, Matt Corman and Chris Ord, since Variety published the news today (May 19). However, the existence of a new series is not entirely unexpected.

Matt Murdock’s character, Daredevil, made an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, as did Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin’s character, Wilson Fisk, in Hawkeye. In this series, it’s likely that both actors will reprise their roles.

For their work on the USA Network series Covert Affairs, starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham, Corman and Ord are well-known.

Why did we have to wait so long for a Daredevil episode on Disney+, and where Charlie Cox might show up in the future?

Despite being the first and most popular Marvel programme on Netflix, Daredevil’s cast has gone into hiding ever since the other shows were axed. That’s because Netflix’s contract stated that these characters couldn’t appear outside of Netflix for the two years following their dismissal from the service.

As a result, there was a long line of eager onlookers. A few months later, in December of last year, we discovered that Charlie Cox would be playing Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You’d know he was missed if you saw No Way Home in a movie theatre like the one I did, which had a tremendous pop when Cox returned.

Daredevil and Murdoch might emerge in the MCU before this new series is even in existence. Because She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (which debuts on August 17) is right there, giving Marvel an excuse for the court battle of the century involving super-powered individuals. Even a brief appearance.

We’ll have to wait and see which Defender shows up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe next. We’re crossing our fingers that Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are out for a drink at the same pub as She-Hulk is.
