Now that Apple’s new MacBook Pro 13-inch is here, a new era has begun for the company’s electronic products. When compared to prior MacBook Pro models, this new model is more powerful than any 13-inch MacBook Pro ever made by Apple.
In spite of the M2’s lack of brute force, Apple designed it to be more power-efficient than the M1 Pro and M1 Max CPUs. With the new processor, the MacBook Pro’s battery life is unrivaled in the industry. As our research has demonstrated, this isn’t exaggeration.
According to the Tom’s Guide Battery test, the new MacBook Pro 13-inch lasted 18 hours, 20 minutes at 150 nits of screen brightness. We’ve never seen a laptop with such a long battery life as this. Indeed, the 13-inch MacBook Pro appears to have the longest-lasting battery on the market.
In terms of endurance, there are few rivals to the MacBook Pro 13-inch. We’ll take a quick look at a few of these gadgets and see how they compare.

The Dell Latitude 9510, a 15-inch laptop with a battery life of 18 hours and 17 minutes, is the only laptop in the same league. The battery life of this laptop and that of the MacBook Pro are nearly identical, at just three minutes apart. In fact, their battery life is virtually same, thus this is a moot point. The Dell, on the other hand, features a lower-resolution 1080p screen.
After that, the chasm widens even farther. You may theoretically use laptops like the Dell Latitude 9410 2-in-1 (16:54) and the Asus ExpertBook B9450 (16:42) all day long. HP’s Elite Folio (16:21) is likewise a member of the exclusive 16-hour club. Our testing of the M1-powered MacBook Pro last year, which lasted for 16 hours and 32 minutes, cannot be overlooked. At the time, we were really impressed with the device’s battery life. However, compared to its most recent edition, it’s not as long-lasting as the previous iteration.
If you’re looking for an all-day battery life, look no further than HP EliteBook x360 G7 and Samsung Galaxy Book Flex 15. Although the MacBook Air with M1 (14:41) and the MacBook Pro 14-inch (14:08) have a lower battery life, anything beyond 14 hours is fantastic. While I could go on and on about the new MacBook Pro 13-inch’s incredible battery life, I believe the point has been made.
MacBook Pro 2022 battery life: A bright future for long-lasting laptops
A new milestone for laptop battery life has been set by the MacBook Pro 13-inch with its M2 CPU. Nothing can compete with it in this category except for the previously stated tough laptops. As much as one can rail against its outmoded style, few will deny that the laptop delivers outstanding performance and is built to last. It’s unquestionably one of the best laptops currently available.
Laptops that could last all day were formerly considered science fiction. We’re seeing laptops from both Apple and Microsoft that have incredible battery life. Instead, I hope that Apple’s new M2-powered laptops serve as a model for other laptop makers such as Dell, HP and Asus. Everybody will benefit if more long-lasting laptops are made available.
Apple is the world’s most powerful technology firm. Because of this, it’s safe to assume that its competitors are paying attention to the new MacBook Pro. As a result, laptops will get even better for consumers. It’s an exciting prospect.
