Earlier this week, a display analyst tweeted that Apple will likely focus on Face ID enhancements on the iPhone in the near future, rather than upgrading Touch ID.

In response to a rumour that under-display Touch ID might be available as early as 2025, the analyst claimed that Apple plans to integrate the Face ID camera system inside the display of the iPhone 16 in 2024.

Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also tweeted his support for Young this weekend. Also, according to Kuo, the business is working on bringing Face ID under the display in 2024 and that, rather than a technological challenge, the company has already found out how to achieve it.

Because of “a marketing reason,” it won’t be available on the iPhone until 2024, according to Kuo.

Under-display authentication has been rumoured by Apple for some time now. In recent years, only the iPad’s Touch ID button and the iPhone’s Face ID system have seen significant advancements in authentication.
